I can't imagine playing without a 4x12 onstage that i can stand in front of and feel air pushing at the back of my legs and being able to do controlled feedback. Even on the gigs that i use my kemper. i still run a cab and the soundguy gets the direct out from the kemper. I don't think i'll...
I have several V's and an Explorer. The Gibson V and the King V are the most comfortable shape to play sitting down. The Explorer isn't bad sitting down but really I hate playing sitting down. I'm a stand up player. I record standing up. I practice for shows standing up. Sitting down just feels...
They are my faves alongside Grover locking tuners. I use one of those two depending on the original mount style of the guitar. As far as heavy, i honestly don't know but I don't have issues with them.
yeah, with all the mods around 2-2.5k. These are great players! I was eyeballing a 76 for a bit and by the time i made the decision to buy it someone snagged it. Still kicking myself for that one.
I used to use Dean Markley's till about 2010-ish, around the time they changed the packaging again. They just didn't seem the same anymore. Been going through different string brands since then, but landed on NYXL around 2016 and been using those ever since. Best sounding strings i've ever used.
I tend to favor hot ceramic magnet pickups. Some of my current favorites:
JWP Iron Man (in a Les Paul Standard)
Bare Knuckle War Pig (in a Les Paul Standard)
Wolfetone Timber Wolf (in an SG Standard)
Guitarmory Atlas (in my Jackson RR1)
I've also got a set of Motor City Solutions sitting...
For the money the LTD 1000T's are good guitars. I used to have several LTD's but after getting my ESP eclipse i got rid of all but one of them. Kept one to have something to tune to d standard and lower. As someone who's owned the LTD's, has an ESP an 5 Les Pauls my advice would be to get an...
it started somewhere in the mid to late 70's. I believe the earliest one i can recall is a 76. They stopped in the early 80's, i think 82 was the last full year but you can find some after that as they were using up supply. The pancake bodies i'm not sure when those started. I wanna say 72 or...
yeah, that's exactly why i think those Norlin era customs are amazing. All the maple on them. also why they're the heaviest era of Les Pauls. Also why i like them the best.
I got my Powerball II about 3 years ago after using Dual and triple rectos since the mid 90's and it's hands down my favorite amp i ever owned. And unlike my old stable of mesas I did not have to pair it up with something else for recording rhythm tracks. I used just that amp for cleans, rhythms...
