I do use the app - way too much actually lol. But I do surf on my laptop too. I've never noticed that the listing age went away for a time. News to me..
My band strives for getting it close to how we recorded it, but we've also adjusted things along the way that have made the songs better live. I take liberty with my leads. There's things I do now that are better than the way i recorded it. Alot of my solos on our current record, I came up with...
I have the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. It's fine for my purposes, which is just home demos of new songs/ideas. I would prolly get something better if i was tracking for an album or any official type of release
I wasn't sure what I would think about it when i first heard about them, but it's a cool concept. I'm not really into tribute bands so I like the schtick they do with it. And now i've been in a band with the drummer for a couple years now. Solid dude, solid drummer.
I use a Powerball II, got it in 2019 and I love it. Switched over from using Mesa dual/triple recto's since the mid-90's. I got tired of having to boost an amp and to pair it with a Marshall or something similar for recording. The Powerball II does not need a boost, and it's the first time in...
In my GIbson SG i have a Wolfetone Timbre Wolfe in the bridge with a SD 59 in the neck. That Wolfetone is a screamer and has become one of my favorite pickups and my SG has become one of my favorite guitars.
Guitar straight into amp with 4x12. A dynamic close at the cone and a condenser about 6-10 feet back aimed at a speaker. Worked with Bill Metoyer on my last album and he has a 4 mic technique that was the most accurate capture of an amp that I've ever heard. I just wish the record was mixed and...
I've got a Kemper power rack and had all 4 channels of my Engl Powerball II profiled, so I'm set. I specifically got my Kemper for when i can't use my Engl, so i guess one of those instances would be if it needs tubes and I can't get them. But honestly, power tubes should last at least 2 years...
Another vote for loop switcher.. I use a Joyo PXL-Pro loop switcher to control my pedals and switching on my amp. With one button I can switch channels and have pedals patched in that are both in front of the amp and in the loop. Relatively inexpensive compared to something look a Boss ES-8
I used to be opposed to it, but i really want one. I had a chance to buy a trad pro II with a floyd from someone here a few years ago and ended up passing on it. I've been kicking myself about that for awhile now as prices on them have gotten stupid. Waiting on finding the right deal on one...
Toally GASing for a Gibson Les Paul Dark Night. Quilted maple top, flamed maple neck with an ebony fretboard. So much yes!!!! Switch out the pickups and hardware and this thing is stage & studio ready.
I bought a '97LTD Eclipse for $200 in the early 2000's. That thing played great. Dropped a JB in the bridge and it became my go-to guitar for gigging and especially recording. It sounded really good! As my collection expanded, i was playing it less and less till it ended up just sitting in a...
Pariah's are good. I know a couple guys endorsed by them, and their guitars sound great. Been meaning to get some myself but i have a bit of a pickup surplus at the moment.
I would try getting used ones first. Wade makes great pickups but he's not the fastest. I believe he's a one man shop. I've been seeing Afwyu's and Detroiters on the used market lately. The classifieds here are a great place to watch for pickups. I was able to snag a set of Solutions at a great...
