    When does G.A.S. hit you?

I am just now starting to get that itch...been out of gear and the whole thing for a long time since tearing down my guitar room, divorce and starting over. Dumped a Mark IVB that I had for years right before all this and now I'm missing it but I still have most of my gear. Played my 2555x...

I'd like to try the 35. I love my Classic but have considered trying to tighten it up with a mod..but don't want to lose the magic and the bloom.

Anyone strip finish around maple cap on a LP Studio?

...to make a natural binding? I have a twenty-something year old Studio that I got new back in the mid-late 90s. Several nuts, locking tuners, 50s wiring and a 2nd Degree Black Belt later, I absolutely LOVE it. My best sounding guitar for sure. But I've always wanted it to have binding...

Please update me on the past year of amplifiers

Past year? Well, people lost their minds on Mesa Mark prices and pretty much everything else.

    Anyone using the Fryette PS-100

I have a PS-2 and love it! I use it to tame some big amps, Super Reverb, Tremoverb, Ecstasy, etc and also to power my POD Go and for some direct recording. I agree that it is an amazingly versatile and useful tool and sounds fantastic but I also agree that it very slightly changes the sound...

Bogner 101B vs Bogner red and blue pedal?

I have an Ecstasy Classic as well as the Red pedal. The Classic isn't quite as tight or snarly as the 101B but is a bit more raw and open in the voicing and the bass is a bit boomier. I didn't realize this until I spent a lot of time with each. The 101b is definitely the tighter amp while the...

    Friedman Runt 50 - SM57 - iRig Pre/Smartphone

bouncing this Does the irig pre bypass the onboard iphone mic while using the camera app? Can't seem to find that info anywhere...I'm considering getting one but don't want to have use a separate app for audio and then sync with video. Thinking it does based on OP. Thanks!

    Mesa 4x12 OS: other Celestions?

I sold the Mesa V30s that were in my 212 Recto cab. I like those speakers in the Traditional Mesa 412 but not at all in the 212 or Standard OS recto cabs. Sounded pretty beamy and unmusical and just awful with any Marshall. I tried a bunch of speakers in that cab over the years, various...

    Mesa mark 3 no stripe?

The problem is that people are going fucking crazy atm with Marks and most Boogies. Not saying they're not worth it because they're well built and versatile. I just think it's a combination of pandemic, Gibson buyout, and partly due to some really good demos surfacing over the past year (Leon...

Tone is in the ... cab.

Been saying this for years! Cabs are the big difference maker in tone. Even the same cab with different speakers isn’t as important as different cabinet construction and dimensions.

Mesa Mark users (for metal stuff): what cab?

I used my old IV with a horizontal recto 212 with the UK V30s, Chinese, and a few other mixes over the years. It’s pretty good but I vastly prefer the Traditional 412. The cab dimensions are more important than the speaker in this case IMO. I really like my Marshall 1960b as well.
