Well, I've never compared (nor seen) a Larry schematic to that of the Engl, but a few things that stand out are: double/interactive gain knobs on the Savage, that, to some extent, seem to do a little bit of what the girth & grind controls do on the Larry/Fortin designs. And this already...
@Amp_chaser it's clear you WANT to believe the amp is not stock. Eventhough Dave effin' Friedman himself came back to this forum to tell you otherwise.
You can quote your Japanese friends and what not all day long, and surely they are avid fans with tons of knowledge, but how many of them have...
Did you find that the K100's are much different from the K85's? I was under the impression that they were the same, and only after finding out that the K85's could handle more power, Celestion upped the number.
Full disclosure; I only have experience with K85's, not K100's.
Interesting. How are the Redbacks tonally?
If I'm not mistaken, the Thrasher is close to the Satan, which in turn was Ola's sig amp, that probably had some input to sound like the Engl Savage 60, which was Ola's favourite or one of... amp. (It's one of my faves...:sneaky: )
Meaning that the...
Yep, used that combination in both a 2x12 that I sold (because of space constraints and too much cabs) and in my Engl Pro 4x12 it's still 2 K85's + 2 V30's.
Brings the punch, definition and thump. (y)
Given that there's a lot of famous folks living there, they probably care about their privacy. And non-famous folks might care about that too...
So adding trees and other greenery in their yards is a...I'd say quite common and a historically tried and true method to prevent prying eyes of...
Cool tone! The JB seems to have more fuzzy/woofy scratchiness going on for a lack of a better description. The Aldrich sounds tighter and better 'reigned in'.
So, I tried it out this afternoon on my Lead 100 MOSFET;
if you're going direct into the FX Return, you're basically bypassing the master volume knob as well (since the Send of the amp isn't used), which means that your clean tone is pretty much at max volume, and it's kinda dull.
The BE-OD...
TC Harmony G XT has phantom power. But it's long obsolete, so probably you're only choice is finding a used one.

I had one for a few years, with big ideas to use it in my band, where I do some backing vocals...but in the end, I figured...
Big ups for the bottle of Bogle there! (y)
And RIP Donnie. I always got along with him and seeing the shit treatment he got by various folks in OT, made me steer clear there most of the time.
Thinner than through a typical Fender clean tube amp.
The Artist (like its solidstate brother Lead 100 Mosfet) has quite a bit of filtering going on, removing a lot of low-end from the input.
Drive-wise it obviously has a lot more gain than what the amp itself is capable of (unboosted).
What I...
Purely when playing with a LOUD drummer.
I've rehearsed with the Ironball with a balanced drummer, where I plugged the Ironball into a Marshall 4x12 cab that was in the rehearsal room. Sounded good. But yeah, at that point the Master level sits around 6 ot 7 (out of 10), so your clean sound...
Engl Ironball back: (has reverb control + headphones out )
Engl Fireball 25 back: (has noise gate control )
Both have 4 functions that can be footwitched:
Ironball: Channel, Gain Boost, Master Volume Boost, Reverb
Fireball: Channel, Mid Boost, Master Volume Boost, FX-Loop
Purely based on...
@conanthewarrior
Note that the Fireball 25 and MT15, as well as the bigger EVH 50W all have 'big' tubes; 6L6.
This usually translates to a fuller tone, even for tight metal, compared to amps with 2x EL84 tubes, which are considered 'small'.
Now, I will say, as someone who owns and gigs with...
You're all talk there, but remember when some mod wasn't being 'Easter bunny pet my head' about your dog?
Suddenly it wasn't fun and games when someone else was dishing it, eh?
So... whatever. ?
