OK, Nick and I were discussing this a bit through email today. Why do some 212 cabs such as Voodoo Labs, Bogner to name a few....look much beefier than the Egnater cabs? I noticed the Eggie 212 has what appears to be thinner wood. Maybe that is good because maybe it provides better resonance...

OK, I have swapped plaenty of tubes in and out of my Mod 50 but I think what I am looking for most is warmth and smoothness with some growl......but growl comes from lots of factors. Anyone care to chime in on which are the smoothest? I am thinking E34Ls or 6550s.

Talking to some guys about how easy it is to bias the Egnater.....I was told it is a fixed bias amp. Huh? Can someone explain that one?

I decided the way for me to go since it has more gain on tap thanks to his gain boost, is the Jaded Faith modded Randall Plexi. I have used it before and you get the classic Plexi tones plus pushed, hot rodded Plexi without having to use a boost pedal. http://www.jadedfaithmods.com/clips.html
