Seymour Bro we need to talk ...

PAF vs JB, yes. That’s not nuance. I’m taking “nuances” between similar spec pickups, not “differences” between different genres of pickups, thus the 2 pickups I listed are going to be high output and add compression. Additionally, a mic’s cab is going to further compress and imparts its own...

NGD: After 30+ years, my first tele

The perception I’m getting with these is the same I’m getting with P90s. Not quite as jangly and strat neck pickups but rounder on top with certain amps. Into a fender type amp, they’re perfect, but on the clean channel of channel switchers, I find that I like to add some time of clean boost to...

Do you find the neck pickup warmer/creamier than expected?

I’m a sucker for relics and I needed an excuse to buy another guitar :D I like the neck on this one. Meaty frets, and a comfy carve. I don’t know the radius but I’m assuming it’s a bit smaller than my preferred 12”. The body seems very light as well. I was really surprised how fat and good...

I also think that the nuances of pickups is more experiences by the in room wankering. Most of those nuances are lost in the mix and the sun dried cougar with bat wings under her arms in the front row with hearing that can go over 14khz does care if you are using a JB or a Tonezone. :D

The thicker the wires (AWG) the less resistance. 6000 winds of 42awg wire will have have less resistance to 6000 winds of small 43awg wire. More resistance has is not the only factor when it comes with clarity and tone. Inductance plays a huge role. The amount of winds has most direct affect...

? Tone Nerd Pickups? ?BKP Polymath/Silo? MOJOtone Hornet Gen II? ?Hellbender?

I am changing a few things such as bobbins, spacers, lead wire, and magnet wire. All othe metal parts and magnets are the same US sourced parts. The magnet wire was original going to be upgraded to the more expensive plain enamel instead of poly, but in my testing I am not satisfied with the...

? Tone Nerd Pickups? ?BKP Polymath/Silo? MOJOtone Hornet Gen II? ?Hellbender?

I’m trying hard to get back into production. I was not happy with the locally sourced 44awg wire. I’m literally days from getting getting the some 44awg poly wire to start putting out some high output options

What's that one amp you bought repeatedly trying to love it, but couldn't?

It depends. Not everyone buys an amp to crank. If they are home players that only get to moderate levels, then the feel is only applicable to how they use it. People buy sports cars and don’t race, but how it performs with daily use is equally important.

NGD: Another lessor know Japanese Les Paul

Fun factory video of their momose lline. They do make some strat heads that I may pick up. No CNCs

NGD: Another lessor know Japanese Les Paul

My Navigator Custom is king. The only reason I dont play it more is because of the unpotted Seth Lovers. If I were in the states, they’d have been swapped long ago. The Japanese will ding you hard on resale value for pickup mods, including pickups.

NGD: Another lessor know Japanese Les Paul

I’ve played a few history’s here. They seem well made and 100% Japanese made, but the ones I’ve seen used do t seem to hold their value

NGD: Another lessor know Japanese Les Paul

First impression is that it looks and feels great. They did a fresh fret level and crown. Action is great. I had to deoxit the switch and pots, but that’s expected here with the humidity. Plugging in, I fell in love with the neck but didn’t like the bridge at all. I thought adjusting the height...

Humbucker split coil… which coil is preferred?

On the neck PU, the screw coil should be the one to use. If you want hum canceling when both are split the you’ll have to use the bridge slug with the neck screw coil.

NGD: Another lessor know Japanese Les Paul

I’ve been behaving myself for over a month, but that’s no fun. I’ve been wanting a gold too but have too many Les Paul’s. But, none of them are P90s, not have I owned a P90 guitar. This is the first guitar I’ve bought from mainland since it’s so hard to buy online when your billing address...

If a Genie gave you $1,000,000 bucks to buy gear what would it be ?

I spent a total of 9 months there 20 years ago and back then, I “heard” that it was only 1000 baht for long time. Back then it was 40 baht to the dollar, so $25 and 300 baht ($8) to the bar you met at. I know a group of guys that just went there last week and they said 2-3000 baht. From what I...
