Every Luxxtone I’ve played has been among the best necks and fretwork that I’ve tried. As for how many guitars I need? The answer is always more. :D I have 12 now and I probably play half of them regularly. There’s still more that I want. I’ve been talking to @LPMojoGL about wanting a hollow...
Dude! I’ve have the Vigier for 3 months now and it’s still in perfect tune and I’ve played it at least 10-15 times and the humidity changes from 50-70 several times per weak. Don’t need no stinking truss rods.
What are you trying to accomplish? A lot of winders like to play buzzword bingo Handwound doesnt mean scatterwound and the best PAFs made to date are machine wound. Scattered winding lowers the a-factor of the resonant peak, which think of the a-factor as the intensity of frequency of the...
Got the Fralins installed. They are great in this guitar, so much that I can’t put it down. I get it now why people say how versatile teles are. I always rolled my eyes before. i get it now
If I were to build one from scratch, I think I’d do ash as well. I’m not even sure what mine is. It’s a light weight mystery wood,LoL.
I love the high gain tone from this ash CS one
Got to the root of the mud. traditionally, tele neck pickups are 43awg wire in the neck and 42awg in the bridge.
The tele neck is supposed to be 0.47” tall. The stock bobbin was only 0.40 which is 15% shorter. Additionally, the bobbin wasn’t very full. On a stock tele, the bobbin should be...
After listening to clips for a few days. I ordered a set of Fralin Blues Specials. That way I’ll have a good baseline for when I whine something. I was going to get lawyers, but I can get the Fralin in country in 2 days
I just A/B’d the tele with my strat and the neck pickup is defiantly neutered on this one. Not only is it missing high end, but the output isn’t there. Into a clean up, it’s considerably less volume. It measures hotter than my strat neck too. I suspect this is a super budget neck PU and used...
