Yeah man, it just sings high gain mids all day long. So different vs the Modern Classic II, like it makes the MC II sound so much more modern sounding in comparison, hence the name I know i know lol. Just very grateful to experience these sounds in the room.
I have to say Helios for me. I have a 50 watt Helios and it is everything I wanted for Bogner modded Marshall tones.
I have gone through a lot of amps to find this out too : Bogner 101b / Uberschall v1 / v2 green jewel / blue revision / twin jet / Shiva
Helios is the handwired tightest...
I have to add something to this, even trying subbing KT77's in place of E34L's in the Modern Classic II makes for interesting tones. I've tried with mine and it really rips, just adds a bit more extended low end.
I've got 2 amps (Wizard MC II and Bogner Helios) and I have to say these two cover everything I need so far presently. Next video will be a edited comparison of the two, obviously the Wizard sounds more modern vs the Bogner heavy on mids. I find the Wizard lead gain past 3 o'clock starts to...
ECC83S / 12ax7 JJ preamp tubes. When I reached out to Rick he said JJE34L in power section and JJECC83s in preamp. Don't over think it like many seem to do, if it sounds good to your ears it sounds good.
Well i am relieved that you approve of it now lol haha j/k around.
It is intriguing to me, that the Wizard inch to the left away from cone came out as bright as Helios inch to the right closer. Good learning curve for me on how the mic position picks up each amp sounds differently. I am now...
I made this one for you dude lol
Settings can be seen in the vid, I shifted the mic like an inch to the right, and on the grill. Brighter sounds came through
Mic positioning the same for both amps, so it makes sense one may sound diff than the other. The Bogner def is brighter than clip demonstrated, i bet if i moved it a half inch to the right closer to the speaker cone it would be 'too bright'. Treble was 2 o clock and presence like 11 o clock if...
Thanks, appreciate each and every listen and person whom makes the effort to comment that enjoys it. I've debated continually making more on my own little channel experimenting with closer to speaker cone for more brightness or further off the grill for more 'in the room' sounds etc. Either...
Hey,
I actually have the exact same mic location for each amp, so that is interesting that one amp comes out slightly darker then.. weird.
I have the condenser mic directly on grill about halfway between center of speaker cone and edge of speaker. Mid way between, and I suppose I could...
