    Are EL34 safe in 6L6 ENGL Special Edition E670?

    I just acquired a 6L6 version of this amp. It does have a switch for el34, however I read that , supposedly according to ENGL it is not recommended to run el34s for long. Why did they add a switch if its not "safe"? Also, would asking Eurotubes for example, for specific grade of tubes probably...

    How to salvage a power tube that has a crack

    Received a quad of Winged C 6L6 from reverb, and one has a small crack in the center. I have had them a few days and barely noticed it, not sure if they came like this or it happened here. So, vacuum is not lost so I dont know if the crack is only superficial. Is there any thing I can put on it...
