    Eminence Karnivore Clip

    Dialing these babies in tonight!! Got the 2 top speakers mic'd, each with a 57. The right one is on axis, left one off axis about 55 degrees. These things fucking rule. https://app.box.com/s/uek4fuxaipfys4ot9wd2cdq1hi4ditvg

    NSD - Eminence Karnivores!!

    Played it at practice today and it sounded amazing. Not super different from my other guitar players stock Mesa OS cab, but different enough.

    NSD - Eminence Karnivores!!

    Updated OP with a new pic of the quad installed in my Mesa OS cab. Too bad you can't see them, because they look really great, too haha.

    NSD - Eminence Karnivores!!

    Thanks dudes! It's funny because Kohle says they aren't really designed after anything. Meanwhile, it's more similar to V30s than any of the V30s "clones" I've tried. What I hear by comparison...they don't have that high end fizzy thing that V30s have. Absolutely. The high end is a bit...

    NSD - Eminence Karnivores!!

    haha damn! Thanks! I used Eminence Legends for years. I think they pair great with Peaveys, but I hadn't like them with Mesas or EVH stuff as much. At some point I switched over to Mesa cabs and the V30s they came with. I don't really like them on their own, but they blend well with something...

    NSD - Eminence Karnivores!!

    Thanks for all the feedback! I am digging these quite a bit. I was never really a fan of V30s, but they always seem to make certain things easier. I actually only recently started using them regularly...maybe 3-4 years ago. I think I will put the quad in this OS cab and bring my traditional...

    NSD - Eminence Karnivores!!

    Karnivores came in today! Totally surprise. I never got any shipping notifications, but this morning I got a notification from UPS about an OFD package from Eminence. It could be only one thing!! Well...4 things, I guess haha. I loaded 2 of them in place of the Redbacks in my Mesa OS cab. These...

    New Recording System day!

    I made the switch from EZD to GGD a while ago and haven't looked back. Works way better for me. I gave my EZD license to my kid lol.

    Difference between EVH Stealth and EVH 5150 III 50 watt

    I've had the 6l6 and Stealth 50 and 100 watters, and a Kruze modded 6l6 50...and an EL34 combo that I don't remember too well, and the LBX-S, which is cool but is basically a toy. It's cool to see what the changes between the models were, electronically. I mainly live on the red channel, so I...

    Mesa Thiele 1x12 - Any good for Mark series?

    I had a Mark V25 and a Thiele like 10 years ago, but I didn't like the Thiele. The low end response was too loose for my taste. I ended up getting a slightly smaller 112 with a V30 that worked out way better for me.

    IIC++ Reissue vs JP2C?

    Yeah, the JP was interesting. The features were perfect, and it's really fucking fun to play. The response on it is just spectacular. But there was some weird frequency in the mids that I couldn't dial out, and over time I found I couldn't deal with it anymore. But I keep looking at them, and...

    Thinking about jumping into the Synergy thing

    I was surprised at how much the power section influences the tone of an amp when I had the Synergy stuff. I used the PBII module through a Powerball II FX loop that my other guitar player owns, and once we dialed them in and started switching back and forth, we couldn't tell which was the SYN...

    IIC++ Reissue vs JP2C?

    I have not played a IIC+ so I can't make any judgements on those and how these amps compare to those. I agree that I found the JP to be boxy. Then when I got the VII and played them next to each other, it wasn't even close. Which was a bummer because the features on the JP are nearly perfect. I...

    Re-tube Mark IV or wait?

    Mesas are fixed bias. You need to try to find tubes that work within their bias range, which is why they always recommend using Mesa tubes. But most companies rate their tubes, so it shouldn't be too hard to get ones that will work from other places, too. I would ditch those little rubber band...

    Re-tube Mark IV or wait?

    Yeah, you could throw them in and see if you notice an improvement. If the old ones are still working, keep them just in case. That's what I used to do. New tubes in, old tubes backup. But I haven't really changed tubes power tubes in any amps in a while haha.

    INGD: Finally caved on an E-II Arrow…

    Nice! I loved the gray LTD Arrow they put out a couple years ago. The Black Metal version looked so sick, too, but when I got that one, I HATED that matte finish. Felt like I was playing a chalkboard. Super bummer because those BM guitars look sick to me. I like the EX, too. I do miss their...

    What's your home recording setup?

    Pics show everything, but RME Fireface 802 is the heart of it all. Behringer channel strip for drums. Adam A7X monitors. Mesa cab has an SM57 and Lewitt LCT240Pro on it all the time. Easy peasy. I also have a Driftwood Reactive Load for the occasions where loudness is a problem. Also have a...

    Price check Mark IV

    Rack Marks go for a little less. Combos, too. Heads are getting the most. But yeah, my 2 Mark IVs were $1250. They were going for $2500 at their peak, but seem to be around the $1800-$2k mark these days.
