NGD - Jackson Pro SL7 Loomis - Korea Redeemed?

Even if I do that, I don’t want to have paid for something I didn’t get - in this case a functioning bridge pickup that retails for $160. If they would have just given me a partial refund of that amount I would have been fine to take it from there. I’m actually kind of surprised though that I...

NGD - Jackson Pro SL7 Loomis - Korea Redeemed?

Well, after talking to Sweetwater there's nothing they can do except have me send the guitar back to them to figure out what's wrong, which seems pretty wacky to me but it is what it is. There is obviously nothing to be done but replace the pickup, which a monkey could do since these are quick...

    JSX Mods

Well that's wild, what explains the fact that they sound EXACTLY like there is diode clipping distortion with these amps? If you know what it sounds like, you know what that means. Especially on the Crunch channel of the JSX you can hear it, it's the way that there is this always present bitey...

NGD - Jackson Pro SL7 Loomis - Korea Redeemed?

The 1500 series Floyd isn't too bad, but I haven't used a floyd trem in a long ass time. I have had a Vega Trem on one of my guitars since last year and while it has it's drawbacks too, it feels way smoother to use than this Floyd. It's also machined better and you can feel it in every single...

NGD - Jackson Pro SL7 Loomis - Korea Redeemed?

Korea redeemed? Quite possibly! But Seymour Duncan - shamefur dispray! I recently bought a korean LTD Baritone from Sweetwater that was god awful and should not have made it out of the factory, arguably not even to B stock. I returned it and decided, despite really not wanting a 7 string, to...

Fender Pano Verb Amp- Jack White collab

Designed and engineered in the US means manufactured and assembled elsewhere, unless it also says Made in the USA somewhere.

    Don't be gay and buy a 5150....

The OP made a very interesting argument, kind of like saying “don’t be gay and have sex with a woman, let a guy jerk you off instead.” Interesting; retarded, but interesting.

Songs you didn't learn because the recording was not in 440

As a kid learning to play this is just what I did with everything. I would tune to whatever standard pitch using a pitch pipe and if a song I wanted to play sounded off I would just adjust until it matched up. I can recall coming across a lot of stuff on albums being off by some random amount...

    Anyone playing the Jackson PC-1's?

Depending on the overall look of the guitar, I agree. I’ve never had trouble seeing the side dots at a glance, although I can imagine in certain lighting conditions it could be harder, especially if it’s black dots on maple as opposed to white on ebony or something.

Does the neck not have side dots??

    Sitting on tons of 12ax7

I might hit you up about Tungsrams, I am down to just a couple that I use in my 2204 and I’d at the very least like a backup pair.

Best compressor pedal withot being a Brad Paisly wanna be

As an up-front guitar effect a compressor is ultimately not something I need a lot of options on. Unless you’re going for some squashed quackiness a little goes a long way. Have a Barber Direct Drive I really only use with single coils and bass, and I use pretty light settings on it to boot. It...

What amps are currently in your stable?

Man some of you have loaded stables. It would bother me a little to almost never be able to get around to playing everything if I had that many. I feel like my bases are pretty well covered with what I have right now, but the GAS demon still whispers into my ear now and then. Amps: JP2C...

Amp mystery : is the peavey butcher 2 a plexi and a 2203 in one box?

I didn’t even think the Butcher 2 ever really hit the market but IIRC people were saying it was basically based on the Crunch channel of the JSX…

NGD - and it's going back! LTD MH-1000 Baritone

 I have a Les Paul that was factory Plek’d too, but the nut still wasn’t good enough to not have horrible tuning issues from strings binding up. No complaints about the frets but I wasn’t blown away or anything.

    JSX Mods

That tone stack setup is super pointless. I’ve had a couple of these amps and liked them but if there was one mod I wish was doable it would be making the diode clipping switchable.

NGD - and it's going back! LTD MH-1000 Baritone

Granted, I haven’t bought a Schecter guitar since the 2000’s (I did get a Km6-II for free though) but I had a couple bad experiences and they were with Korean made ones from what were their “higher end” models at that time. It’s also just a lot of what I heard from other guys over the years...

NGD - and it's going back! LTD MH-1000 Baritone

No I wouldn’t return it for the chewed up binding, although the finish flaw where the spot of paint is missing by the binding would bother me. But like I said, if it played well I’d keep it anyway and just ask for a small partial refund or something. The reason I won’t take even more of a...

NGD - and it's going back! LTD MH-1000 Baritone

I’m pretty sure the new baritones are all made in Indonesia except that one signature model from that guy in Jinjer(?) who I have never heard. That one I think is made in Korea. It is a cool color and has a better Gotoh bridge but surprisingly some kind of Jackson branded pickups.

NGD - and it's going back! LTD MH-1000 Baritone

Yeah I would look at the Japanese stuff but I have never got along with Ibanez necks and ESP Japan isn’t really making anything extended range that I like the specs of. It’s also crazy some of the new E-II models are over $3k. Obviously Korea can make very good guitars, I’ve had a number of...
