On mine my treble/presence is a little lower, I have the bass maxed without the bass boost turned on and I run the right added gain control wide open. Everything else is the same.
Congrats! I absolutely love mine, it’s my favorite amp. I use it in a prog-death metal setting but there are a lot of tones to be had when you start turning knobs.
My favorite is my Metalhead (Elan) modded JCM800 but when I say this I am talking my amp specifically, it has something special going on. A while back I had the opportunity to try another 800 he modded as well as some of his preamps and they just weren’t the same.
I saw that too, definitely a cool amp. I always keep an eye out for other Elan/Metalhead mods, I have an ‘88 2203 he did that absolutely crushes.
I wish the seller had included a clip of the amp in the ad. Even though most of Elan’s mods look the same he wasn’t always consistent with the...
Sounds like I just have a case of forum-induced GAS. I have a point of reference from playing a IIC++ before and have been more than happy with my III+. I just haven’t tried a IV so all of the comments got me wondering how much better it could be ?.
Interesting takes here.
Let me ask you guys this- I have a 60 watt no-stripe III with the + and R2 mod by Mike B. I love this amp but from what I’m reading here I am wondering if I am I still missing out despite having the mods. Should I move it along and find a IV instead? I use this amp for...
“Spheres” by Pestilence. Love this record but always wondered what it would sound like with a more “conventional” tone. A extra bonus is it’s also filled with early Roland guitar synth.
No longer for sale, I’m going to hold onto it. I didn’t really think it through as much as I should have when I made the listing and would probably regret the decision to get rid of it.
I’m selling a 1971 Marshall 1959T Super Tremolo 100 watt.
The amp is in very good condition for it’s age. Everything seems to work well although I cannot test the tremolo circuit (I don’t have the footswitch). The power transformer has been replaced with a Classic Tone and the amp was recapped...
This is a Kartakou Beastbox tube preamp pedal. This preamp is based on the Engl E530 rack preamp and has both a clean and high gain channel. It is in excellent condition and functions as it should. There is Velcro on the bottom of the pedal as shown in the last photo. I am asking $325 plus...
This is a Metalhead Electronics Elan MK-5 Dino high gain tube preamp pedal that I had modded by Mike at Fortin Amplification. The mod re-voiced the preamp for a tighter feel than stock and a more usuable gain range. The pedal is in excellent condition, works as it should and includes the...
First off, please forgive my amateur recording skills and lack of shredding ability   .
If you had to compare this to something, what kind of amp would you say it sounds like? I'll reveal what it is later on but I'm kind of curious what other people have to say. I will tell you that...
