    NPD!

Oh and obviously a big thanks! to Wayne for this. I've been wanting another one of these forever so I can Velcro one on my board, but the focus rarely come up anymore and I'm sure they'd want $300 or more for one these days. IMO there's nothing better as a boost for actives and very-high-output...

    NPD!

Griffin Analog's new "scythe" boost is everyone's chance to get a vfe focus clone that has a couple slight improvements. a. The scythe has a slightly wider frequency spectrum than the focus when both pedals are set at absolute minimum filtering, in other words with the toggles set to shallow...

What’s everybody’s favorite death metal band?

Anyone else dig earlier Behemoth? After The Apostacy album I lost interest because it all started sounding the same to me.

New EVM12L video by Sonic Drive Studios

I'll correct myself. CC uses a mix of EVM mesa cabs and V30 mesa cabs, not mixed in the same cabs.

New EVM12L video by Sonic Drive Studios

V30 by a mile IMO, but mixed is better. That's what CC uses in their Mesa cabs.

I want some new speakers for my 412

I'd suggest a quad of classic lead 80s. The newest versions are UK-made, but the MIC versions are killer too. Also there are the UK-made Mesa 90w black shadow versions that are very close to the same thing.

AJFA is Metallica's best album...fight me

For me it's a tie between MOP and AJFA. Kill'm and RTL are both great too but they really peaked in the late 80s IMO.

    Griffin Analog : New Stuff

The Scythe (focus) is actually a big win for anyone wanting a very organic gain/mid-booster. The term "transparent" gets very overused these days when it comes to boost/od circuits, but these really earn that description because when you engage it you still retain so much of the same...

    Who plays 8s?

I don't have any guitars at E, but if I did it would be 9-44 for me. I use 9.5-46 for Eb with 25.5" scale.

Best “use of tremolo bar” solos

That's my favorite track on the JB album. Anyone who thinks he was all sweeps and showboat speed obviously hasn't made it to Opus Pocus.

DiMarzios are better than Duncans...change my mind

I'm fairly even across the pickup brand spectrum. IME it's all about finding the right model match for each individual guitar.

This may be the greatest anthem ROCK song with groove and swag................................

I love Orgasmatron , but it wasn't originally on Arise, they later added it as a bonus track on later runs. As for #1 rock anthem of all time,,,,,,,in reality I'd say Juke Box Hero is, but We Will Rock You is more known the world over so maybe it's #1. I'd say ac/dc should get #1 rock band...

Did Nesstone go out of business?

Yeah, great tube source. A few years back, fortunately before the tube panic I stocked-up on the Mesa coke bottle 420 and the older Chinese Mesa silver square-getter 12ax7. They basically were just standard prices for the day, not priced like NOS.

    Replacing Jackson Sharkfin Inlays?

Luminlay side dots enhance visibility for low-light stage performances These are all you need really.

New Satch Vai - pretty cool

Not feel'n it either. I like them all but this sounds very uninspired IMO.

    Deciding on pickups is tough

I much prefer the SOH tone because it's darker and thicker IMO. RIB sounds too crystal clear for me,,,really brash and trebly, but that does fit the tone I think of as "thrashy".
