    Deciding on pickups is tough

Most people haven't even heard an X2N set properly. On most superstats you need a flat/neck ring at the bridge and the pickup needs set down almost flush with the ring, depending on the strings and action of course. You have to set it by fretting each string individually at the very highest fret...

Has Celestion Changed the Construction of Mesa Vintage 30s?

Why did they stop the Lynchbacks? Did he get another deal and Celestion lost rights? I've never read anyone who has played them say anything other than great things. Still wish I would have got a new pair when they were fresh and cheap.

The next Boost , OD or Distortion ........... We have a Winner !! ( VFE Focus aka : Scythe )

What about the original vfe focus? It's IMO a better standout because you can set the lows/hpf to roll-off steeply, and the highs to slope shallow, which to my ears always sounds better even if you use little filtering anyways. Having the mix control is great for these.

How often do you discard picks?

I use the carbon-fiber jazz3 max-grips. Doing a fair amount of fast alt-picking the bevel starts getting slanted a bit after a couple hours of play time. So I only get a few hours out of each pick since I really do prefer the stock "even" bevel of the brand new pick. The JP-trinity picks, which...

Anyone have a trick to remove Seymour's name on a pickup

Never minded it on the Invader (my favorite SD) because it is much smaller, and the blacked-out models are fine too. IIRC they do a blacked Distortion and Black Winter along with Nazgul/Sentient/Pegasus.

    Mesa going old skool

Didn't the OGs have EVM12L speakers? Were they the tops or bottoms in the old cabs, and what others speakers were in the OGs?

Different types of V30 speakers. Opinions?

They're all good speakers IMO. Which version you like best will depend on the ohms and cab they are in just as much as the year of manufacture, not to mention every individual speaker has some variance.

    A reflection on Skid Row

If it weren't just for I Remember You and it's silky solo I doubt we'd even be having this conversation.

    Experience with the Rectifier Roadster?

You can always calibrate it a little bit by just swapping preamp tubes, namely in the first and second positions.

Mesa 6L6 Tubes: Where To Buy?

They still sell their own tubes, but since all the global stupidity they have been hoarding those in shorter supply, so availability has been off and on. Always check with Humbucker Music supply out of Georgia because they still don't charge tax last I knew. No tax no shipping

Mesa 6L6 Tubes: Where To Buy?

They don't need to be quad-matched for rectifiers. You can even have all three pairs in a triple be of different color codes, as long as the inners match each other, and of course same goes for outers and tweeners. Furthermore they don't even need to be of the same tube model, only within the...
