I do remember a long time ago watching one of Fluff's videos where he talked about his Les Paul's NOT holding their tuning very well. Maybe this is revenge for that. I think he was saying how he didn't use them for shows too often due to their poor stability. hahaha

MW should be abundant on the used market for a long time. I'm not sure which era or version has sold the most, but the MW is the longest running era and has probably been revised or altered by far the least of any era.

Just say'n that when people compare them and say "close but not quite there" they need to take tubes into account. I actually have a stash of the 420s plus plenty of those older preamp tubes that were stock in these way back.

It still won't have those older 420 coke bottles though. I guess they probably have the JJ/445.

Tribute tone was great IMO. Not sure who was in control of that, and who was or wasn't in control of his album tones.

For that price I thought all those dots must be push-button mods.

IMO they both have great stuff that was well after the early 90s.

Theoretically wouldn't you move the mic back about the same distance as the thickness of the front baffle when recording the front-mount speaker? Otherwise the mic will always be closer to the speaker on front-mounts, hence the whole "punchier/brighter" descriptions that people often claim.

Rear-loaded is for bottoms, and FL is for tops.

Great blended with V30 s.

Also the Carvin V3 cabs. Some are V30 loaded,, some T75, and some have Carvin's house speakers. All are front loaded iirc.
