Custom is a classic and was my first 'Duncan (Custom 5 was second). That said, I found it to always be picky about which guitar I had it in. It could be God tier or a horrible combo of boomy and harsh.

Probably my Wizard w800. Even though it is Rick's take on his idealized 800, it feels/responds like a Superlead with more pre-amp gain on tap and tone shaping. Volume up, the superleads mids fill out and bloom more, whereas the Wizard stays more linear.

Yup. Absolutely classic for a reason. And end of the day, if you are after THAT thing that a superlead can do or a MV jmp/early 2203/2204 can do, there really isn't a substitute.

Not alot of folks know what an S-Deco is, but it used to be listed on the Custom Shop site. 12k-ish 43awg wind, with a PAF-ish voice. I have had them with A2, A5 and A8 mags and they all sound great!

Not sold on the rails, but I have used Duncan's with A8's quite a bit. My favorite was an S-Deco Custom shop, with two rows of hex screws and an A8. Had just the right amount of drive, tightness, brightness and no weird/offensive mid frequencies.
