I used a JMP-1 and recorded with it for a few years back in the day. I’m not saying it’s not a good piece of kit. It’s a cool preamp. Going from that, back to a real amp head…… not even close.

Your not missing anything in my opinion. Had a 2C+. Sounds good. No magic in this amp. It was fun to play. Way, way overpriced now. I’ll also add that as long as “we” keep thinking and saying a Mark III is worth 2500-3000 because it has the magic transformer, the sellers will keep asking these...

Agreed. I’ll also add that when I was gigging, I was always more interested in critiquing my performance/playing more than my tone. I noticed differences from venue to venue, sure, but you learn quickly that is inevitable. Lots of variables come into play at a live gig.
