I had 3 LTD EC-1000T-CTM's - 2 white (i had EMG's, the other had Dimarzio 36th Anniversary), and 1 black w/EMG's. I hate EMG's, but loved these guitars, and even with the EMG's, they were inspiring.
I had a trio, and they were "arguably" the best playing LP style guitars I ever owned. Fit and finish was top notch and CONSISTENT. Wish i still had them.
I'm just mystified where people are getting the money to pay for ungodly overpriced guitars these days. I never thought I'd see the day where I'd never even consider a new USA-made guitar just out of principle, never mind what they're going for used, but hey...here we are.
Mine is fantastic! The frets need a little polishing (which I'll do when I change strings), but that is LITERALLY all I can even think of that was less than stellar.
Gibby’s current pricing is already ludicrous, which - as you pointed out - has screwed up the used market too. Sorry, but Gibsons you could get new a few years back for <$1800 are NOT $2400 guitars now. Jeez…I remember when you could get new Trad Pros for about $1599?? What happened?? That’s a...
I had a Comp - one of the coolest amps I ever owned. Probably the only Spawn I ever had that had a little bit of "sponge" to it. It didn't punish hack playing like mine the way a Quick Rod did.
Very cool demo!
I put my order in for a Epi Cantrell "Wino", and got a TV Yellow LP Special today (used - under $350!) which is pretty cool at the moment! I'm on the fence about maybe snagging one or two more Epi's as long as they have the "Inspired By Gibson" series - those headstocks are way better than the...
I owned a couple USA models. Nice guitars, well put together, sounded good, but nothing "special" about them. Kinda had that mass-produced, sterile, CNC'd feel - a bit on the uninspiring side of the fence.
If you were to judge TON's tone by their albums, you'd be missing out. What a great live band! They would come to MN almost every October for a number of years. Amazing live band, and one you had to experience.
Read up on this a long time ago, and it's a Mesa Recto.
EDIT: just found this: Hickey's early rig (before World Coming Down) consisted of ADA MP-1 & MP-2 preamps or a Marshall JMP-1 with an Alesis Quadraverb running into Marshall 9005 and/or Mosvalve 500 power amps, which were run into one or...
I play for me and no-one else. Do I suck? Yep. Do I care? Not particularly. This is a fun way for me to get away from the day.
And fishing is awesome. Love my Pflueger spin casters too! Paired with Fenwick rods - cost effective and tough to do better for the dollar!
