Like others have said depends on the audience and what you think is easy. My top choice would be shimmering highs by John norum but I don’t think that’s super easy to learn. March of the crabs is pretty easy and sounds cool. Maybe switch 625?
Nice, I didn’t see it in the earlier pics but you should try some shielded coax on both grids of v1. That should help with noise when adding more gain.
I like 2k7 with 0.68 bypass caps on both sides of v1. Might also try getting rid of the plate snubber, a 33k to the first grid and a 150k on the first plate. Maybe some diodes too, they’re pretty easy to install on a switch.
Check your B+ to the pre as well. Might try bumping those voltages up...
I think your spot on with that. I had a ton of gain up front and was trying to tame it down leading into the TMB controls. For reference I had the deep sea mod into a PF tonestack which was just way too much gain on the first 2 stages. I’ll definitely try adding gain later as your explanation...
I agree with ya I hate waxes and edibles with a passion. Maybe look into a dry herb vaporizer. I haven’t smoked anything in forever so I don’t know what a good brand would be but they’re low on smell and don’t get you annihilated like normal weed, waxes, and edibles can.
Question for you all, with high gain circuits are there any best practices or areas to look at when getting to get a great gain taper? With my current circuits the guitar volume knob is basically an on off switch with little ability to roll down for a cleaner tone. For reference I see a lot of...
There’s a schem here. It’s the Larry guess at what the mod could be from what I gather. Sounds great though, if your going for slash tones though it’s probably not the best move. From what I know it’s still a bit of a mystery as to what he used and who’s mod was in the amp during that time.
I have a faber for no other real reason than they use e clips instead of retaining wire. They’re not life changing but it’s nice to have a bridge with saddles that don’t wiggle. Also the coating seems to be better than stock, my sweat eats bridge finishes and the faber holds up way better...
Shoutout @stephen sawall for this.

Yup your hitting the grid on a tube way to hard. Either need to bump up the grid resistor values or voltage div values.
Sounds like a good excuse to buy a scope though lol.
Hmm… interest rates are up and PayPal wants to keep my money for nearly a month? Sounds like someone wants an interest free loan under the guise of “security”
If they sold 2203 and 1959x’s for 2400-2600 and modded options like sir#39/ Jose clones for 2700-2900 they’d be in a lot better spot. I bet most people would put aside their pride regarding country of origin at that price point.
Nobody’s looking at Marshall to innovate, just make an 800 for...
You may find it elementary with your background but I like the uncle Doug stuff on YouTube. I found the limited amount of books I’ve read on the subject to be way too theory based and technical, maybe to my detriment.
You’ll pick it up fast, for the most part tubes are signal in through the...
