You mean when ex-Hendrix associates and band members invited me to fly across the country, to play to a packed New Georges club?
It was 1992, btw, asshole.
Never liked Triumph, and I like Phil X even less. Little opportunistic of Phil isn't it?
Triumph reforms for a few tunes, and there's Mr Phil X cutting in to their dance for "look at me" content. Punk-ass bitch. I have more respect for John Ou.
Soundtrack of my teenage life, late 60s, early 70s. Amazing times, amazing music by Sly and the Family Stone.
A band that was integrated racially and sexually. Men and women in that band, and black and white in that band, made for some amazing music. RIP
You must remember, back in 1978, when the DS1 first appeared, there weren't alot of choices. I was happy to replace the MXR Distortion+ as my main distortion box.
First guy I saw with a DS1 was Randy Hansen in '78. Into Marshall JMP's w/ an Echoplex, it was a great sound, I quickly imitated...
Joe Satriani had no problem with the Boss DS-1. Today there are better choices
The DS-1 has no upper mids. It's scooped and bassy with a mostly unusable TONE control. I ran mine into an MXR 10 Band EQ.
