For neutral, I'd say Ownhammer. If I'm not micing a cab, I'm typically using one of their IRs, and I have a decent collection of IRs to choose from. ML Sound are also decent, but hit and miss imo.
In 2020 I would see DSL100's for like $400 all the time. Now I see the same amps re-posted over and over for like a year at $700-800. I don't think the actual buying market is as high as these people think it is. They just see postings on Reverb for that much and assume they can get it, and then...
The difference is they plate the pins in gold for increased conductivity. Does it make a difference? I seriously doubt the small increase in conductivity on the pins would have any noticeable effect on tone. The rest of the damn thing is made of the exact same materials. I have heard that...
Everything you can do with the footswitch you can do on the back of the amp. So, if you don't mind going to the back of the amp every time you want to change channels, then you're good.
Most of the time shipping goes like that. A few months ago I had a situation where I shipped a TC100 with 2 day shipping to New Jersey and the amp was lost for a month. But, I made sure I demanded that it be scanned at pick up so the buyer's purchase was protected, because that's the right thing...
Their prices and shipping. Shipping delays are understandable, but when I spend hundreds of dollars on tubes, the least they could do is ensure its origin scanned so if it gets lost in the mail I don't have to spend months fighting with USPS about a package they claim they never got. When I ship...
Wait, so this is a complaint about someone not responding to an inquiry? If dude ripped you off or didn't respond after an arrangement, that's understandable. But, to complain about a guy not responding is ridiculous.
I just bought a couple sets. One from Tube Depot and then one from Eurotubes. Prices are definitely up and probably going to get worst. Hopefully I won't have to get more for a while, and when I do I won't be getting them from Tube Depot again.
I know this feeling. Solo inspiration is hard enough without things sounding how you want them. You just have to try and not worry about making things sound good. Writing songs with interesting structure and melody is more important. There's plenty of people that can take tracks and make them...
When you crank up the bias, you are not adjusting the voltage you are adjusting the current. There is a resistor that is converting the current to voltage for you to read for biasing. You can only adjust the voltage by swapping plate load resistors which are configured in a voltage divider...
The stock 2203 and 2204 from Ceriatone do not have bleed resistors across the caps. At least not on their layout. Even if they did, it be would be a good idea to treat the amp(or any amp) as if it didn't have them. It's a good habit to have.
I would, especially from 330k. That's too much for the second stage in my opinion. I think you would be better off with 330k on the first plate load and 220k on the second plate load. 2.7k/.68 is healthy on the first stage cathode, but I would try dropping the resistance on the second stage...
