If it's fretting out at the first fret then you don't have enough relief. loosen the truss rod a little. You probably didn't need to shim the nut. Pete

I have a red dunlop fuzz face (reissue) that I tweaked a little and socketed the transistors. Then I bought a matched set of NKT275s from small bear electronics, put em in and then played with the trimpots. Sounds 200% better than stock, but I'm still not sure I'm a 'fuzz' guy. Pete
