How is the bridge model? I'm talking about the non-X.
I'm curious about it. Thinking about dropping one in a guitar to replace a Duncan Distortion. I like the Distortion, but I want to try other stuff out. FWIW, I really like the EMG 81 and Black Winter. The Distortion, while it's great, isn't...
Yeah, there's a bit less distance between the edge of the low E saddle and the edge of the baseplate. It's the same with an OFR. That's the way they design them, for some reason. Other than that, the saddles don't look misaligned to me.
I used to have one. Solid amp. Both the Ultra and Crunch channels were very useable for high-gain rhtyms, thoug I feel both had a tad too much gain and were hard to control with high-output pickups.
Good amp nonetheless.
I like quad-tracked rythm guitars with a pair hard panned, and another pair 3dB lower and panned 90%. 80 I feel is too narrow, but each to his own.
I like to low pass at 12K. I do like some fizz up top. I feel it makes the guitars more airy and 3D.
I also feel high passing at 100 Hz is too...
The Custom series cables I own have been rock solid and they sound good...
...but!
The American Stage cables I own sound noticeably better. They're not as tough, though.
I use EB's 12-56, but I tune down a whole step.
I agree with D-Rock about the tone of thicker strings, though. At some point, they become a bit dull and boomy-sounding. I like to go as thin as I can go while still being playable (I think too light strings are awkward to play too).
Thank you, dudes! The amp is a bit low-middy, but that makes it pretty chunky. I'm going to try some EHX tubes in it to see if I can make it a bit less stuffy.
And hi, Jung! :)
FWIW, I love the tone and functionality of my DSL1HR I just got to replace my Randall RD1H. I know it's just a 1W amp, but I love it.
This is a quick short test I made with it into my 1960A wih H-75 Creambacks:

No idea. Don't they recommend two of them with the 50W head?
I know the 50W combo comes with a G12EVH-50, which is a tweaked version of the G12H Anniversary that handles more watts. I don't think they put those in the 1x12 cabs, though.
Then again, they also recommend the 80W 4x12 with the...
