More info on MIDI In phantom power please!

This! See attached. Other notes: * With the guitar through the pedal switcher it seems to hum, into the front of the amp it doesn't. * The midi lead to the Diezel is tie-wrapped to a mains lead which normally powers the pedals, but this wasn't connected to anything at the time so it can't be...

More info on MIDI In phantom power please!

Works fine from an operational point of view, but hums like a bastard. I think either some caps may be in order else the whole plan is scuppered. :(

More info on MIDI In phantom power please!

Cool. So, since looking from the front of the amp that's the same as looking into the cable end. I've done a mod to my pedal at lunch time. Gotta go for a hair cut, then will get home with enough time to double check it again against this, then blow my amp up.

More info on MIDI In phantom power please!

Cheers! The manual makes more sense with that diagram and the odd numbering! So that's numbered looking at the plug end then (rather than socket)?

Cheers Olaf! The image doesn't appear to be showing up though.

More info on MIDI In phantom power please!

Can anyone tell me what voltages comes out the MIDI in port on what pins of the Herbert? I'm considering modding something to phantom power it. I'm interested in use with a 5-pin cable, so pins 1 & 7 won't be connected. So it implies from the manual that pin 3 is + and 6 is - (or with a 5 pin...

How are you connecting your tuner?

A lot of tuners aren't finally transparent so using them in series is a bad idea. If you have some pedalboard split loop that's ok. I run mine off my Herbert tuner out though so I can use the Herbie mute button and it both works the entire time, and also when set to Mute mode.

Oh no! Another Herbert Preamp Tube Thread!

Fixed the main noise problem swapping out v3 with a JJ I had kicking about. Would still like any opinions on using all JJ's or EHs instead of Rubys in the Herbie Preamp though as I may retune the lot...

New to the forum, almost new to Diezel

What cab's that? What's in the rack? :)

    Push me over the edge...

One of my friends has an Axe-FX II. We're doing a covers band for New Years Eve. After the first practice he changed his main patches from Splawn to a Diezel Herbert. Does it sound good? Yes, very nice. Does it sound as good as my real Herbert sat next to it...

Yet another Herbert tube questions thread...

According to Peter: So JJ KT77s are the current suggestion AFAIK. I'm being a PITA and asking difficult questions about alternative preamp tubes though in another thread.

Oh no! Another Herbert Preamp Tube Thread!

So, noisy crap preamp = tubes. Time to buy more. So I normally have got tubes from Watford Valves as I trust their big test rig which does burn in and monitors all the valves for faults. They do some sets recommended for Diezels: a Standard Gain cryo JJ/Tesla set, a standard gain cryo EH set...

    Herbert Ch2 Midi Mod

G-major would be far easier since it's sat on top of the Herbie, whereas the FCB1010 is usually a lot further away, and it'll now be very very far away since I'm now using a Ground Control since I bought it a firmware upgrade and bought a pedal switcher. I should probably update my signature...

"Popular" Diezel users - past and present

Apparently based of that EHX website photo that Weezer bloke is the bassist showing of his EHX pedal, but that VH4 definitely belongs to someone in Weezer, so whoever posted Rivers Cuomos uses one was probably right. :)

"Popular" Diezel users - past and present

I dunno if it was Rivers Cuomo from Weezer must have some Kinda Diezel as I saw them a year or 2 ago somewhere at a festival. But at least the other bloke (Scott Shriner?) from Weezer must use them since here he is with his "Wiezel"...  Also Secret Machines at least used to use a...

    Herbert Ch2 Midi Mod

Was there some other kinda mod to enable midi CC toggles to remote switch V2 or mid cut I heard of (i.e. replace the EPROM with different firmware)? Where can I find out more about that? I assume the switchable +/- mod just taps into a voltage/signal that switches a relay or something between...

    Help! Noisy Herbie!

That's what I figured, but would rather swap out one or 2, than blow my entire christmas budget on tubes. I've already spent half of it I shouldn't on guitar related equipment (hello 2nd hand Parker MIDIfly, and new Voodoo Lab Pedal Switcher)! Is it likely to be a particular one?

    Help! Noisy Herbie!

Hello! My Herbie seems to have got rather noisy. Unusually it seems to be noisy on channel 1 clean, but not noticeable on 2 or 3 (which I'd have guessed the higher gain to have made any noises worse! Any clues?

What's the difference between Herbert 2+, and 3?

That's what I normally do. Just liked 2+ more for heavier stuff recently. I changed my guitar strings last night though so they all sound different again now though! I don't like any of them quite as much with brand new super jangly strings! *faceplam*

What's the difference between Herbert 2+, and 3?

So far got a channel 3 is tighter and a channel 3 is looser!?! That's what I figured, but wondered if I could get channel 3 more channel 2+ sounding if I'm using 2 for lower gain - mode sounds and still want to midi switch 3 channels. Maybe turn the bass down a spot too from what's been said.
