The Cab M+ and Blubox (and the Nux SS I think) all have speaker throughs. But you don't need to use the 'through'- just run your cabinet as you would normally, and run another cable to the other speaker out from your amp (doesn't matter which, since these don't load your amp, and the speaker...
If you don't need a load (b/c you're plugging into a cab), then any IR loader would do. Preferably something that takes speaker level with an XLR out (Cab M, NUX Solid Studio, Blubox, etc.).
This debate always seems to come up on private forums- I don't get why people take so much offense to it. It's pretty reasonable for a company to ask people not to discuss competitors products/services on their own boards. There are a zillion non-corporate places to talk about the competition.
The thing about Reaper is that there's a learning curve. But I think that's true of most DAWs out there. That said, it pays dividends once you learn a few things ;)
I never left ... still gig with tubes. But I do rehearse with an Amp1, because it's easier to move around.
If there's anywhere left to innovate, I'd think size & weight. Perhaps in the vein of hybrid tube/solid state - y'know, less iron to move around.
Ok- mine just arrived. Will definitely have to spend some time with it this weekend. I'm looking forward to the same kind of discoveries about my picking technique.
You can find the 4-conductor version of those Dimarzios used if you keep an eye out- they're in several other MM guitars. I've picked up a few sets over the years for use in other guitars.
Volume pedal. Dial it back normally, step on it when you need a boost.
(Plus then you can use it for swells and generally getting your levels right w/o having to take your hands of the guitar.)
Yep. Way better to get the signal after the power amp.
The speaker connections on those devices are in parallel, so you can also just run one speaker out from your amp to a cabinet, then run the other speaker out to the Cab M / Blubox.
