New for 2018 Bogner Helios Eclipse and Goldfinger Super Lead

I wonder if Helios Eclipse will be in the 50watt or 100watt version or both?? The channel switching would be very nice for the Helios. One of the better amps I have tried out, but just could not get around the different inputs for gigging. This could really help out the Helios if the tone and...

Friedman Smallbox compared to BE-50 Deluxe

Does anybody have the new BE-50 DLX that has also played a Smallbox or Wildwood Smallbox?? I am wondering if the BE-50 has the ability to do the plexi type of clean/grit like the Smallbox channel 1. And can the Smallbox get enough gain up in the 2nd channel/3rd channel WW version to have some...

Overrated guitar players.... Underrated guitar players...

Underrated: Doug Rappoport: Guy has classic style with a modern attitude and has a great touch and can shred, but still be musical. Steffen Schackinger: Good melody and tone. Ian Thornley: Excellent slide player and can rip, yet plays and writes the part for the song. Pete Thorn: Great...

    New amp! Too many options!

Check out the Landry LS100 G3 as well. Great cleans and a wide range on the dirt side. Leads can be smoothed out with the treble switch in the darkest setting and the presence rolled back and there is good crunch available as well.

NAD: My Landry G3 arrived! Initial review.

That definitely should help Junk Yard Dog with the grind side of the Landry. Sounds good. Mine cannot come soon enough!

NAD: My Landry G3 arrived! Initial review.

Junk Yard Dog: "BUT can it get is gainy and grindy to do something like Alice in Chains or Tool...Maybe Deftones?" Here is a clip of Doug Rappoport checking out the G3 in one of his demo vids. The Backing track that kicks off the video has a A.I.C. vibe to it with some grind. Not sure if he...

Thanks for listening to the clips. I will try and get some sounds clips of some short little song ideas of some sorts once I get my G3.

NAD: My Landry G3 arrived! Initial review.

I know..... I don't want to come off sounding like a used car salesman for anything LOL I just know it was tough sorting thru all of the forums and bugging guys PM'ing them trying to find as much as I could about several amps beyond just Bill's G3. I figured I would try to give my honest...

NAD: My Landry G3 arrived! Initial review.

^^^^^^^^^ This....I think you are right on with your description Jayy. What I was trying to describe was when the switch is in the hard mode it seemed to pull the mids/slightly upper mids forward a bit, which also gives it a touch more immediacy in attack/articulation. The soft setting had...

NAD: My Landry G3 arrived! Initial review.

Onto the gain side of the G3. ***Yes the master volume is the best one I tried...Sounds great at a whisper...Really The gain side picks up where the dirty clean channel left off, or as starting point from the clean clean channel. Still can get down to that lower gain setting for pop rock...

NAD: My Landry G3 arrived! Initial review.

I am going to agree with everything that Jayy wrote in his review. I spent 4 hours with Bill over at the Tritone Expo in St. Louis last Saturday. I had one on one opportunity with Bill and the G3 and we went thru just about every feature, settings, various guitars, different speaker cabs etc...

Considering buying a Landry LS100 G3 and asking for input

I am definitely curious to hear your thoughts on the G3 as well as yours will be the most current incarnation of the head with all of the latest tweaks. I would definitely like to know how interactive it is with the guitar volume knob for cleanup. There are quite a few amps that will clean up...

Anybody have a Redplate Magica around Nashville?

Looking for somebody in the Nashville area that has a Redplate Magica amp. A MagicaT would be even better if anyone has one that they might be willing to let me have a quick listen or a few minutes to check it out.

Considering buying a Landry LS100 G3 and asking for input

That is one of the things that is hard to tell without getting in front of the Landry. My thought process is it could be approached two different ways. One way would be go with the "standard" fendery clean on the G3 and then add a pedal for the grit or breakup. This video is the approach I...

Considering buying a Landry LS100 G3 and asking for input

I see Bill just posted a new video on the "dirty clean channel". I was one of the guys that called and talked quite a bit about this last week with him. Lifeson1....I am assuming you have the standard "clean channel" which is more F twin'ish from the descriptions on the forums. How would you...

Considering buying a Landry LS100 G3 and asking for input

Anybody in the Nashville area have a G3 with the current features? I have been testing amps lately and the Landry is on the list, but would really like to hear one in person. Tested the BE100, PT100 so far on my list. Last few that I want to get some time in front of before a final decision...

Best pickups for early VH tones?

I have used a Duncan Custom from way back. I had a guitar built for me by Performance guitars back in '87 (Yes I am an old dog:-)) Back then, before there was endless choices of pickups like there is now, I called Seymour and actually got to talk with Seymour himself. I of course was an Eddie...
