Marshall JVM versus JCM800 video by Rabea Massaad

digitaljams tried to tell everyone here way back in the day that the JVM was an all-in-one killer amp. Nails high gain, rock, clean and edge of break up, it's one of the few perfect Mashall amps right out of the box. He was right this whole time.

Let’s Talk About Wizard Amps Gut Shots Modern Classic 50 Modded, Slightly

I agree. With obscure amps like these, people want them exactly how the Wizard dude makes it. Doesn't matter if Joe Schmoe made it better, it's not a Wizard anymore. I feel that way about non-obscure amps too. I don't care who modded a 5150 or Dual Rec, I'm not paying extra money for a modded one.

Les Paul '68 Custom vs. ESP Hanneman- Can you tell the difference?

Could hear the difference big time in the palm mutes. The first guitar was tight and hits a little hard. Second guitar felt like it had a drop off in overall aggression, especially in the palm mutes. I guessed 1 ESP and 2 as the LPC. My LPC came with the 498t/480r set and I'm thinking about...

Let’s Talk About Wizard Amps Gut Shots Modern Classic 50 Modded, Slightly

Do Wizards come with a lifetime warranty or something? The gooping on every single turret, connection and component looks like straight ass. Huge turn off for future repairing because that shit is an absolute pain in the ass to get off.

Tim Mills at BKP. All their pickups get my trousers moving.

Burny Randy Rhoads Les Paul Update

Burny LPCs are fucking killer. I had one in black. I reprofiled the fretboard to 16", dyed it black and put in jescar ss frets with ball ends. That guitar ripped really hard. I don't know why the hell I got rid of it. They're tone machines, especially with the stainless it's got a little more...

For Sale Seymour Duncan SH-6B Distortion Bridge GOLD - $67

This pickup is so tough, my wife has a restraining order on it. Part of the reason I need to get it out of the house.

Is it finally time for a scalloped board?

Get it refretted with stainless steel frets first, then scallop. I won't touch a scalloped board that needs a refret or fret level. A lot of my tech/luthier friends won't either. Especially if you've got a deep/aggressive scallop. It's not worth the risk of breaking off wood. If you've got...

For Sale Seymour Duncan SH-6B Distortion Bridge GOLD - $67

It's angrier than my dad when I didn't hold the flashlight right. It hits the front of the amp harder than my dad used to hit me. This pickup has bigger balls than most mortal men. It has distortion in the name so you know it's good. 13 inches of lead wire, just like me. $67 shipped. don't...

I don't understand the high end Pickup Market

I am a Bare Knuckle fanatic. I've been through tons of Seymour Duncans, Dimarzios and other random pickups. Bare Knuckle always knocks it out of the park and you get exactly what they describe. Although, I use the Ragnarok in everything now and it's really hard to justify $225/pickup or $434/set..

How much do newer Gibson SG's with repaired headstocks go for?

I threw it up for $850 local. Someone already lowballed me at $350. I told him $700 and it's his. Hoping folks will just shoot me an offer at $700 and take it off my hands. Previous owner didn't want a broken/repaired Gibson so I got it cheap because I could do the work. Even if I fixed the...

How much do newer Gibson SG's with repaired headstocks go for?

I've got a 2023 Gibson SG Standard '61.. Like all great Gibsons, it had a headstock break. It's been repaired, but I'm just not an SG guy. It doesn't help that this is the third SG headstock break I've fixed in the past month alone. One SG I just fixed was on it's 3rd headstock break.. The...

    82 JCM 800, 100% original....mod? or not?

I've been to several of a buddies shows. One guy uses an 800 thru an 80s Marshall 4x12.. The other guy uses an 800 2x12 combo loaded with greenbacks. The combo sounds so ridiculously good. I usually hate combos, so it fucked my opinions up. I've got my eyes peeled for a cheap one.

    82 JCM 800, 100% original....mod? or not?

I agree with everyone. Stack pedals if you want more gain or even grab a Mr. Scary to throw in there to get more power.. But leave it stock. There are a ton of modded Marshalls and clones out there. You hardly see any unmolested ones. It would probably be worth more bone stock, since not...

Donation thread to buy VonBonfire a James Tyler

I can't justify bringing another guitar with a gross headstock into the world.. So I will not donate. Also had the chance to play them at multiple NAMMs and the necks felt like chalk every time. Gross, dry and uninspiring. I'll donate to @VonBonfire getting a Squier Classic Vibes instead. (I...
