Spot on.
It's within point blank range for a 30-06, which ends around 300 yards. So it's not like shooter even needed to adjust for drop. If the rifle was zeroed properly, just put the reticle on target and squeeze. People who don't know anything about firearms really need to do some research...
Just watched a briefing. FBI is saying they have been able to track the shooter's movements, both before and after the shooting. And have clear photo/video of the individual but are waiting to release more info to the press.
I'm seeing some posts saying they identified the person of interest in the photos as a Skye Valadez. FB profile is quite sketchy.
Whoops. Looks like the profile was just scrubbed. But I grabbed these photos.
Yeah I'll give you that. Has someone somewhere used [insert amp guru]'s amp on a record? Sure.
I admit I'm going off on a tangent here. But have some perspective. It's been more than 25 years since any of this stuff was relevant. I've met many current artists. Very few of them have heard of...
I disagree. There are videos out now that show the shooter on the rooftop of the Losee Center building just opposite of where Kirk was sitting with a clear line of sight. Distance is about 140 yards. Judging by the video of impact that I unfortunately watched, the sound you hear is the...
I've got some tough love for you: very few people outside of a handful of gear forums know who any of the modders are. Not just Cameron, but any of them. They only know big-name amp companies or modders who have gone on to start their own bigger companies.
All I'll say to this is Mark casually asked me if I was interested in helping build CCVs, to which I politely declined. You were standing right next to him. I've also received formal offers from a number of well-known, boutique amp companies—which I also politely declined.
He's learned from...
I had a similar situation just happen.
I bought one quad and one pair of Philips/Mullard XF4. One tube in each set arrived defective. Merchant refused refund/replacement, even though their return policy states they accept returns—defective or not. I filed a dispute with my CC company but...
There are plenty of ways to solve this issue, including just building amps one at a time. I've built about 10 amps in the last 3 months and I'm a nobody. I'm sure an amp genius can figure it out.
You were there when Mark showed me a bunch of his amps. I know he can do other things. I stand by my original point—the mods he's infamous for are old news. People simply idolize what they can't have. But those mods—variations on diode clipping, plate-fed stacks, or adding another tube stage...
Diode clipping mods have their place, but they're nothing special. People want what they can't have, so when something isn't obtainable, people idolize it. But I'd rather have extra tube gain stages, not diodes. His mods served a purpose back when the goal was easy, simple, non-destructive "drop...
My '70 Super Lead and my '71 Super Trem both had their NFB attached to a speaker jack from the factory, as apposed to one of the output taps. I promptly moved both over to the output tap of my choosing, which I prefer. I'd rather not have my NFB change depending on the speakers I use.
It's also...
lol the Rosemary thing is hilarious. Rosemary wired the back panel, at least on this amp. That means she wired the impedance switch, output jacks, and fuses. For some reason, people began associating Rosemary with a better quality build throughout the amp, even though she never touched the rest...
Nice find.
The glass-reinforced "self leads" of the OT secondary are a dead giveaway as to what OT it has.
I believe this amp was a non-North American export. Amps exported to the USA had a polarity switch and four speaker output jacks. This amp has a third speaker output jack added after the...
