Almost every metal guitarist that has some kind of technical playing cite Malmsteen as an inspiration (Becker, Petrucci, Loomis, Paul Gilbert, even Guthrie Govan...). Just listen to his first solo album, back then it was unheard of, there was only Van Halen playing really technical material...
Hmm well i really don't know what to tell you, especially since it's a LP, no springs to fiddle with or anything... if anything strings lose tension over time so they should go flat as they wear out and no sharp.
Tune the guitar while standing up and holding it in the same position as when you play. Guitars go slightly sharp or flat depending on their orientation (gravity, pressure of the straps when hanging on your shoulders vs. to sitting on your lap)
and for those of you who have the rockcrusher, how would you record silently? Put it on 'studio' mode and turn the volume to minimum? Or can it work without a cab connected? I know it is a loadbox but there is no switch to go from attenuator to 'silent/loadbox'.
Thanks a lot for the answers! I guess the rockcrusher will do all of the things i need. The extra features on the torpedo won't justify it's price for me since I only need attenuation and DI. I'll be getting the normal version since i'll be using cab simulation on my DAW. Moreover the sliders...
I'll be using 8 ohms on both amps so the rockcrusher can handle it. The fact that the reload can handle any load and run a head and a cab with a different load is nice though
Hi!
Which one would you suggest?
I will be using to:
-Classic attenuator to play through a cab (which rules out the Torpedo Live)
-Recording from the line out of the attenuator to my interface using an cab simulator (i already have the Two Notes Wall of Sound plugin).
-Should be able to...
No problem! Yes the nailbombs are much higher output than the RY and more modern, not what you want imo. The RY are very versatile but a have just little more output than the 490 and 498. When you roll off the volume you'll have slightly more crunch but still really nice. However, as with every...
I would strongly recommend Rebell Yells for your LP. I had exactly the same problem with my les paul (490 and 498 as well), it was dark and muddy. It was my first purchase of a BKP a the time, I asked them a couple questions by email and they recommended a set of Rebell Yells. It is really a...
Eric Clapton's autobiography is really good and interesting. Lord of Chaos is also a good read about the rise of Norwegian black metal. I'm not really into black metal but it was a good read.
It's not an electric but I bought a Yamaha APX 9C acoustic used a couple years ago, the guitar is from the early 90's I believe. It's just beautiful to play, ebony fretboard, white bindings that turned to a nice cream color, feels better built that any other acoustic i've played. It's almost as...
I bought a yellow reissue dod250 direct from analogman (modded to be like the original grey one + true bypass). It sounds GREAT with stacked humbuckers (i always have it one with low gain/maxed out level) for clean, crunch and lead sounds. it really compensates nicely for the low output of...
haha ;) Well a "static sticker" doesn't mean anything in french either but he's french canadian so maybe they used it differently... But if it was that easy to remove why did he leave it on for the picture?
