    Power Station question

My MC1 works with all my attenuators. Others may be different I suppose.

    Power Station question

Im sure that is cool and all, but I don’t have a need for any of that. Plus I get option paralysis with too much stuff 😄 When I gig it’s just my Wizard and an old RP1000. Using the PS2 with the old Marshalls, just a small pedalboard, some in front and some in the PS2 loop. I still use a...

    What Plugs Are You Using?

Yeah they are crazy expensive now. The ones I get are the VPower. Used to be $3.00 a plug. Now 5.81 each x8. Running nitrous tends to go thru them alittle more often. Rock Auto is cheapest I have found for them. Not by mich after shippimg though.

    Floyds, top mount vs recessed.

Top mount sucks…recessed is way more fun.

I always loved some Lillian Axe

Used to see them at the Alrosa in Columbus back in the 90’s. We opened for them at The Newport back then. If I remember correctly he had a Marshall sd1 and an ADA. They were always good, just came out a few years too late.

Vintage Marshall Super Lead identification help

Lucky for me I hate the VH sound so ‘68 isn’t a must have for me if that is the big part of his sound 😄 The ghosting drives me nuts. Pretty much every stock 100 watt Marshall does it. Even if someone claims they don’t as soon as I pick up a guitar and play thru it, there they are. 😄 This 78...

Vintage Marshall Super Lead identification help

I was just looking at the caps I took out of the Super Trem. Two axial 32/32 450 marked TCC and one RS 32/32 can. I know there is another somewhere. Tried to find some date codes, not sure what they might be. The Mallory 150uf I am thinking are non original, but have always been in it...

No I broke way too many strings with them. They were copper and also made my fingers turn green.

Vintage Marshall Super Lead identification help

I will have to do more sleuthing next time I have it open. The original caps are in a bag somewhere, should look at the date codes. The 150uf mains caps are 67, not sure month or week. One site I was looking at said 10,000 was 67 12,000 was 68. But could have been partially right or wrong...

Vintage Marshall Super Lead identification help

Interesting. Ive never had a 68, 70 or 71. Plenty of the others. My first was a 72 50 watt and my cab was a sound city 412 and then got a 68 slant cab. Neither were marked in any way and not knowing anything about ohms etc, had no idea about what the impedance selector did. I just tried...

Vintage Marshall Super Lead identification help

My 67 has the PI and preamp can caps. The rest are underneath on the board. Laydown PT. Always thought it was a 68…but it is a 10,000 serial number. 2 speaker jacks and polarity switch. My ‘69 plexi is March and the Metal is August. Look identical inside other than the plexi only has 2...

Vintage Marshall Super Lead identification help

All mine were on the speaker jacks when I got them decades ago. It was easy to tell they were originally that way. Like I said, nevrr seen a ‘69 that wasn’t that way. Not that I have seen them all by any means, but quite alot. I think that is a later thing. After reading about the...

Vintage Marshall Super Lead identification help

I don’t think this is correct. Both my ‘69’s (one is early plexi and one is later metal panel) and both have the nfb hooked to the speaker jacks. All the 69’s I have come across have been the same. They must have started that later. 70 perhaps.

    Tweaking Super Lead specs

Yes. It was the two original 150uf and they were in series. Don’t remember what they measured. I replaced them with two F+T 100uf in series, all I could find. Would like to find something closer sometime, but it is working for now.

    Tweaking Super Lead specs

Mine has mains and screens on a board. PI is a can in the corner and preamp is a can inder the board. Originally there were 2 150uf caps for mains.

    Tweaking Super Lead specs

I have some LCR’s 100/100’s. Bought a long time ago. Reformed them before putting those in. They look goofy though, twice as tall as the 50/50. I have not noticed anything different, little tighter bottom end. What else do you think it would affect? Also have some JJ 100/100 I tried...

    Tweaking Super Lead specs

I like 100/ 100 for mains..50/50 for the rest. Sometimes 32/32 for the preamps but not often.
