I thought they Deliverence 2-12 was a great sounding cab. 4-12 was good too. The FB I had 2-12 was ok, 412 I did not like much. Modern day 1960 (70-current) suck. The 60’s basketweave cabs tend to be pretty great, weigh a ton though.

This is what I did back in the early 90’s…my main modded Superlead into a Juice Extractor thru my fx and then i to two JMP’s that had power amp inputs. Each drove a 412 cab. Great sound loud or quiet.

Same as the red knob ones out in the 90’s. Greg Howe used them back then. Those V front cabs are cool. Fender high gain amp for the time.

Yes I know what the thread title says...I showed my example of how 6550's sound in a Marshall amp with a tweaked 2203 preamp, neither shrill nor hollow. And they sound fine doing ACDC. If an amp sounds shrill and hollow with them, don't know what to tell you, could be how its is set or...

Like was already said, in this day and age no sense in modding one. Already a million ways to get a modded Marshall sound.
