In terms of amps, first thought that came to mind was 5150.

Mesa Mark V (full size). It's 90W, but it's got a great master volume. Ch2 crunch in 45W mode, tube rectifier on, with a boost, absolutely kills. And, they can be found used for reasonable prices relative to the quality of the amp.
If you want to know how a Tone Zone sounds, just take your guitar now and try turning your tone knob all the way down. Then imagine that the low end could somehow get even looser.
I miss my old Classic. Snot inlays, swiss cheese weight relief, but it played great and was the best sounding guitar I've ever owned. I don't even remember why I sold it but I highly regret it now.
Yeah, you would think so, but maybe the fuse is marginal rather than just binary open or short, and has some extra resistance before it goes out that is causing the issues.
