Never tried an Afwayu, but I had a ceramic Warpig in an ESP SRC Horizon (maple neck thru alder) and found it a bit too dull and bassy for my tastes. Dimarzio has some other pickups that are good for thickening up a bright guitar, the Breed is my personal favorite of those.

And none of those cover the neck pickup tones I need for cleans and leads :lol: :LOL:

Good question. I'm pretty stacked on guitars, I have more than I really have time to play. A guitar case is different, it's useful throughout the lifetime of the guitar as it's used. It's not like you're going to carry around an Axe-Fx or a Helix in the original box. Probably. In general I will favor buying something with the original box all else being equal, but it's not something...

I haven't found a guitar bright enough to balance out the muddiness of the Tone Zone or Warpig, personally. YMMV. Personally, I think the Dimarzio Breed is the best thick-sounding pickup for bright guitars.
