OTM is my favorite Randy solo.
I'd never searched youtube looking for anyone covering that, nor have I ever seen anyone play that solo, so thanks for posting, Rare.
Its good to see a regular joe nail it, because it always sounded so "alien" to me just listening to the record.
I thought it was...
Thats the first thing that went through my mind as well.
Well, not if he was offloading them, but why he dumped them.
What kind of cables do you think those are?
I need to go pick up some shorties at lunch.
Its a Diezel Herbert.
I've yet to crank it past 11 o'clock, and that was without the band.
I really wish it was a smaller wattage amp (30-or so) so I could let it cook.
As it stands, its quite loud and overpowers the stage volume if I get anywhere near that loud.
My friend up there...
That does sound great.
I guess I have a tin ear. I try and try to get a certain tone out of my amp and five minutes of tweaking I've basically forgotten where I started from and what I need to change...
I respect the guys who can really dial in an amp/effect.
I've seen a lot of drummers isolate themselves with those plexi-shields.
I seem to recall a guitarist using them, but who/when escapes me.
Does anyone have any experience with using them?
I'm thinking if they work, I could get some actual power tube tone out of my rig. I swear, I never get...
Well, since the units I had to buy havent been delivered yet, the jury is still out on if I have the solution.
Why would you dump the effects? Better option?
Yes, I agree. I've reset my settings and have eliminated the noise gate.
The G System has 4 power connections. I've been powering the wah from the G.
I dont think I can/want to get rid of a volume pedal. Its pretty much integral to my playing at this point.
Well, I went to the TC G System...
I bought a VHS copy of that HSAS concert off of Ebay a few years back.
Very cool. Cool enough to look past the fact that you're looking at VHS quality.
I also found an old Hagar concert from St Louis in '83 that basically turned me onto him when I saw it on MTV one night. Dude just put on a...
Thanks again. I appreciate you going through the trouble for some dude across the world.
I was just browsing/searching the G System forum. There seem to be a lot of people with the issue. Each thread I read went right over my head unfortunately.
Thanks.
It looks like that is for the 60 cycle-type hum elimination, right? And I'm assuming this is what would match impedance levels?
If its just the hiss from the amount of gain I'm running on 2+, would it work to minimize that as well?
Sounds like a Marshall should.
I dig it.
I saw a Fargen on some other post and it had 3 "decades" to choose from. He only made one click.
Do you know which 2 he demo'd on that vid?
I play through a fairly simple rig:
Guitar
EB Volume
Dunlop Wah
G System
Diezel Herbert
(4 cable method with Mogami cabling)
I typically use channel 2+ for everything and just use my volume for clean/crunch.
On the G System I set my gate up fairly hard so that when I'm not playing the gate...
The way I understand it, the supply of GOOD mahogany has dried up and the stuff they are using these days is much more dense/heavy.
They dont just chamber to make them lighter, they chamber them to make them lighter and to hide the fact that the wood under the paint isnt what it used to be.
