Its hard to say. Most of the rumored features like midi switching of bright and boost I really dont need so if the voicing is not drastically better (and Im not sure how it could be) than I will probably keep the CAA version I have now. It is such a killer. I really cant imagine anything...
Theres a difference between having a simple board and a board that is thrown together and is a mess. You can have a small board neatly wired with a PP2+ that is very respectable. It doesnt have to be a huge rig. Andy's here just looks like a disaster waiting to happen. I mean I LOVE the guys...
Sorry, nope. Dirty Bomb is the only one Ive tried. And that was only because the word of mouth was so strong and I wasnt completely satisfied with the Digitech, even though it also sounds good.
Im inclined to say the one I had was a dud given all the praise and the great clips, but with Suhr's quality control that also doesnt seem likely. So I just dont know. I just know it didnt sound nearly as good and BIG as the Dirty Bomb does.
Well, not side by side but through the same rig. Sometimes I use my Badger and distortion pedal instead of PT-100 for small shows. It is true that the Riot sounds much better through high headroom dead clean amps, but people have made claims that it sounds like the lead channel of an OD-100 or...
 I think you must have heard very little of Kotzen and some unfortunate cuts that arent very representative of his sound because these two artists are about as similar as Nickelback and Slayer.
Like I said these guys have serious skills as players, but they are very one dimensional. And thats not really a knock on them. They do what they do at an extremely very high level. But they are not nearly as versatile as Kotzen as players, singers or songwriters. Kotzen can do pop, blues...
Ummm...ok so those other guys mentioned have some serious chops and good timing, but I think to compare them to Kotzen is almost comical. As a guitar player he can play circles around these guys.
Also, Im not denying the amount of SKILL and practice it takes to do what they do, but cookie...
I agree. Its a great practice / composing tool. You could import an mp3 of a song your working on and loop it to work out lead lines and whatnot. I wouldnt use this to gig or anything but for what it is...a $50 practice tool in a device I always have around. Its perfect.
