Im partial to maple for the snappiness but as far as where to go, theres a bunch of places that you can go. I used mighty mite because its cheap but you can go Warmoth, Musicraft,USA guitar parts etc...
I had a bunch of random cheap parts lying around that I rediscovered while doing some cleaning. As far as the parts go, I got the Schaller bridge off of Ebay for 20 bucks all beat up. I wasnt going for any kind of accurate relicing, I wanted something that looked totally abused and beat up and...
Just finished this up and its another home run!!!! This guitar looks,sounds and plays insanely well. Here is the parts list;
Mighty Mite Neck-22 jumbo frets, maple, full Scallop
Warmoth Body-Swamp Ash,Heavily Relicd( seriously abused) by my son and I
DiMarzio Pickups-Area 61 neck,Area 67...
Absolutely agree. I own several Tube vibes( TV1-TV5) and none of them sounded like a Leslie. Cool vibes for sure that had their own thing going on;To me they sounded both hi fi and organic. I never got the Castledine but Ill definitely take your word for it..
The Roger Mayer was a great Vibe...
Loved the tone and playing!!!! These days for me, it just doesnt get any better than Strats and Marshalls and that was an AWESOME example of just how perfect that combo is...

Absolutely agree. The dude is an amazing player that has been on autopilot for years. Th elast time I saw him was about 5 years ago and I walked out of the show about 35min into the set because I had heard the same solo for the 5th time. I know that he has SO MUCH more to offer but hes so...
Great stuff Dave and I can't thank you enough for posting it. I have tons of GM music and video but none of the great articles that you posted. I always loved reading or watching GM interviews because he always had something interesting and insightful to say.
All the best to you and the mrs...
Bill, Ive said it many times, those Rands and the sheer number of them that you own are just friggin over the top...
Heres my number one Superstrat for years , Its the first GMW that I ordered from Lee; Psychotic AAAAA Quilt and Purple!!! It will be getting some competition from the 2...
Not at all Carl. Ill be honest, I did a bunch of research but the truth is I definitely dont have years of experience with singles. I certainly dont have the time with them like you or Ant have. I had heard all kinds of great stuff about the Area's and the Virtual Vintage and Ive seen Steve...
Hey Rob, my personal experience with Duncan singles was very lackluster; Im a much bigger fan of their buckers...
Its all subjective of course but I think that you could definitely find a set of DiMarzios that worked for you in spades...

Completely Awesome Pete but it pisses me off as Im recording challenged. Dont have a friggin clue and have even less of a clue as to where to begin to learn how to do it. I have an assload of ideas and no way to jot them down so to speak. Its actually depressing...

Thanks for the props Diego butI think that you overstated me a bit and sold yourself a bit short... BTW, when I spoke to Steve Blucher, I told him the bold almost vebatim and he was dead nuts on with the recomendation. To me, the area set that I have couldnt be any better and is straty as hell...
Really Pete? I saw Giraldo and Benatar back in March and was pretty underwhelmed which surprises me because Ive always been a huge NG fan. He wasnt nearly as drenched as Schon in recent years but there was no owning going on or anything near it. I dont know if I agree with the YJM/ Leslie West...
