I love mine. Not sure what sounds you're after, but it sounds great on all realms of the gain dial. I'm most recently playing with the gain structure switch, and digging some of the higher gain settings.

Curious about a 2x12 w/gb. I'm using lower wattage heads. Peavey has a convertible for the mini 6505, wonder if anyone has tried one?

Katana head on the lowest setting can still get loud, but sounds great. I end up playing at the 50 watt level and turning down, but I'm using a 1x12 as it was blasting through an oversized 2x12. I have a couple tube amps, but if had to live only with the Katana, it would awesome.

I had the 100 watt, played in 50 watt mode(reduces to 2 tubes). It's just loud as hell. I now own the 50 w head and it sounds great, same as I remember the 100 sounding.

Those are beautiful! I remember when I could buy '57/58s for a quarter ($2,500), great deal on a great guitar. Unfortunately, my income hasn't gone up at the same rate as the prices. I did get an '03 Brazilian board '58 for my son, also named "Gibson". It's in a case only strummed a few times.

Sounds good Jeff. I've had the head since they first landed, great piece of gear. You can hook it up to the Boss Tone Studio and have access to 55 effects. I use with the GAFC? footswitch and you can change channels and turn effects on/off etc.
