Beautiful instrument no doubt...but..I'm thinking buy low...hype...sell high...pretty standard human action...trying to take advantage of us guitar maestro's...
I played a Bogner Goldfinger 45 (while stoned to the bone) and really felt exactly what the OP noted...good under the fingers...I could hear and feel the bloom in the notes through the amp...the actual ebb and flow of the picking and volume knob dynamics.
My experience....they used to be 6-800..5-6 for the Sig, and 7-9 for the block depending on the details...$750 would be a good buy...9-1100 if they think it's got some uniquness to it.
Had a PATB2 in a G&L Climaxx super strat years ago and liked it for metal.
Sold that guitar a while back and now have nothing but BKPs in all my guitars except one..my new Solar 6 string. Yanked the Duncan Solars and put the PATB1 in the bridge and the PATB3 in the neck. I am a die hard BKP...
If you can't get a good tone with the $$ resources they have and those Fractal rigs then it's on them or their guitar techs.
I do agree that in the vid Drucifer posted the tone is kinda meh...but if they like it..who are we to tell them otherwise?
I a using my AX8 at practice full model into a...
Thanks for the insight VES..I will definitely try some different IRs...Like many I gravitate towards "my" type of sound...I use stock IRs but have also found some good stuff with Sinquest/Ownhammer/Choptones..etc.
Man Ves..that is super cool...I love the layers..it's like brain food. I've been trying a bit more layering stuff like you have, here but dude this really well put together.
I love my FM9 and AX8..but when I record with them I always feel like I need to brighten them up in the mix...do you...
Nice snag! Be interesting know which Scumbacks are in there.
I have 2 avatars..love them....front load straight 4x12 with Legends and a 2x12 with Neo Creambacks...both quality cabs.
I'm in the same camp..if it sounds good it is good. Love having the drives in the AX8 and FM9...a nice array to choose from..can find your "flavor" in all the choices. I've also been a Koko boost fan for years..got both OG and the newer version...OG still has a magic like none other..
I am also a die hard tube guy, since my first Peavey Classic 2x12 combo back in 1982. I have both the AX8 and just a few months ago got the FM9.
A lot of the patches right out of the box don't need much more than what you would do spinning knobs on a head...I sold my rack stuff and I'm almost...
Love the jam!...Ultra for my taste..although the REV Blue has a sound that maybe fits more doomy than deathy groove like this song genre....seems like the TJ is waaay too boomy..
My favorites as of the moment...The older Petrucci Trinity and the newer JP Jazz III...generally at least 1.35 mm or more thick..and the Jazz or Jazz III sizes. Was using the 1.5MM Black Ice Planet Waves, but holding onto them when any moisture was invovled was a challenge.
