It is a royal PITA to send a guitar across the border for a repair and then getting it back into Canada after. If not done properly with the right paperwork, you'll land up paying tax on it AGAIN!! Better off to check in Vancouver or Toronto. Too bad your not in Montreal, I'd do it for you.
Had both the 101b and the classic along wiith a M90..........all are great. I'd probably take the M90 over a 101b but the XTC Classic wins for me hands down. Add a little extra gain (easy mod) and it becomes super versatile.
Thanks for all the comments guys. I'm going to try and find the time to get a couple other clips done with different sounds such as a scooped drop D type thing which these amps do pretty well.
Just to be clear here so no one misunderstands.. there are no boost pedals here. This is all amp with a footswitchable " gain boost" incorporated in the amp.
Yah I understand. It's personal taste. Sound is a subjective thing. For instance...... I just listened to your clip in your sig and to me it sounds like there's a wet blanket over the speakers........ but hey! Look at my room. maybe I'm just deaf. ;)
Although I don't really hear it ,not even through my ADAM S3X-H monitors, what ever fizziness people might percieve may be because of the 57 being center placed. I always mic them anywhere from 1/2 way to the edge right up to 1" from the edge but so many people center mic with 57's that I did...
The amp is based off a 68 plexi Metroamp kit (and won't cost much more than having one done by them without the mods). I would never bother trying to build from scratch. Way too time consuming for me.
This has absolutely nothing to do with Wizard. My association with Wizard is basically as an endorsed artist who demos the amps at shows. I also field internet sales for them but I don't work for Wizard as a payed employee
This amp building is something I am doing for fun in my spare time. I...
Here's a quick clip I did of serial#01 this morning after I brought my daughter to her 1st day of kindergarten All controls are set at 6 1/2 (about 2o'clock) except for the gains and master. Master is at 4 and gain 1 is dimed . Gain 2 is at about 8 which is 3 o'clock. Know that there is a lot...
Last I heard France was in Europe , not in Canada so your remark was not only prejudice , it was totally out of context. Now lets keep in on amps or I'm going to have to start chopping here.
