    Smoothest high gain amps?

+1. For as mean, nasty and vicious as they *can* be. There is no smoother lead tone ever created than a mk 2c+

    Lockdown gear binge

Same here, I thought there would be some good deals to be found. Seems like theres a LOT less gear out for sale as well.

    Can we see some mancaves?

How is it you can tell that guys with a lot of gear are subpar players, never took lessons or played in a band? I've played for 35 years. Took lessons as a teenager. Been in bands, for 20+ years some at the same time. Been with my current for around 15 years now. How can anyone look at...

    Can we see some mancaves?

Allen holdsworth has a warehouse storage with all of his equipment. He recently spent a couple days digging out his old les paul custom and his best sounding old marshall... That guy must really suck ass. Bet he doesnt even know how to play a harmonic.. Billy Gibbons, Bonamassa, gary...

NewVintage Marshall Cab Day- Clist buy - what do I have?

My 1973-74 cabinet says marshall in the handles and the cups. My 800 cabinet here doesnt. All my other cabinets are spread out, but it really doesnt mean a lot. Some have it some dont.

NewVintage Marshall Cab Day- Clist buy - what do I have?

If its all.original, it's more in line with an earlier cab. It has a 2x4 brace. They stopped doing that in 1973 area. The piping on top they stopped doing in 1975. Same with the smooth tolex. They started putting corner protectors on then in the 73-74 range. The larger Marshall logo...

Marshall JCM 800 preamp tube question... Phase inverter.

I usually run a Chinese preamp tube. Some tubes can make a difference in v3, but not all that much.

    I want a Jubilee.. Should I?

One of the jubilee I had, a LONG time ago. Bought the halfstack for 900, also sold it when the prices went through the roof. Just couldnt justify keeping it. it was awesome. Original owner had it in his parents basement for 12 years. I'd love to try out a reissue.. heard both ways about...

    I want a Jubilee.. Should I?

87 isn't the first version. They came out officially in 85. But were in some 84 cabinets.

    I want a Jubilee.. Should I?

It's not the vents that change the sound, but other factors in the speaker. For instance, g12-65s had 40 different variations of the same speaker, in the short 4-5 years they were used. There absolutley is a difference in the tone of older vs new g12T-75s. Weve lined them up and plugged the...

    I want a Jubilee.. Should I?

It's not the webz, I've got several of the older cabinets and my bandmate does too. Compared side by side with a newer cabinet, new and old 75s sound incredibly different. I've had more than a dozen of the older ones, and the older the 75, the better it sounds. The older ones sound more...
