http://slocloneforums.com is a wealth of info, focused on the SLO, but also tons more.
Not for the beginner, but if your up to the task you can build an outstanding amp.
Snowed in by the same blizzard here in Madison.
I ordered the THR10 from Hello Music for $225. Probably not as flexible as the HD. I had one of those in the past too, but it was almost too many variables for me. The THR will be delivered next week.
Me too brother. Back in the day, Genesee Community College (Western NY) had a hard rock/guitar show on Saturday AM. I used to set up a reel-to-reel to record it and copy tracks to casssette. The three that killed me back then were End of the World, Captain Nemo and Hot on Your Heels. Ah, simpler...
It was actually something internal to a power tube. By pressing on the top of the tube, presumably stopping the vibration, the sound goes away. It's not the socket or retainer as when that tube is moved the vibration/suppression moves with it. Not sure if that's a sign of impending doom for that...
Can anybody recommend common sources of vibration-based rattle on this amp? It's driving me crazy, so I've got to track it down. Funny, it's one of those frequencies you can still hear when the amp is fairly loud. I had some coming from one of the strap handle covers, but that's fixed and I've...
In general when there are duplicate colors on a PT it's cause they're ends of the same winding and therefore are interchangeable. It's probably the case with the TM transformer, but I trust someone from the Egnater family can answer definitively. Best of luck. Be careful and work slowly.

I haven't messed with other cabs yet. I've got a Bogner 4x12 (V30s), VHT Fatbottom 4x12 and Fatbottom 2x12 (both P50Es), a USA Eggie 2x12 (V30s) and two USA Eggie 1x12s (Lead 80). All that is downstairs and right now the combo is upstairs, with me pondering how to get it down there in one piece...
Yeah, I could live in channel 3 almost exclusively. You can cover a lot of territory there with just your volume knob. I also noticed that in all four channels when the channel masters sweep between 1-2 o'clock you get a pretty jump in volume and tone. I've got a MOD50 and although it's a...
Happy to report is was a bad tube. Thanks Yeti. V1 was the culprit. All in all a smokin' deal on a great amp. Only problem was this came in w/o the footswitch. Are these things available? Thanks again to Yeti. Also to Bruce for his assistance and making the greatest amps on any shore.
Yes, thanks a lot Bruce. The one Yeti had seemed redundant in the OD channels. I'll see if I can grab the amp for a test and make a few tube swaps. Once more I appreciate the insight.

Sorry, not sure about the tubes. The amp is at a store and I didn't have a chance to poke around much. It would be nice to hear from the Egnater clan on the manual discrepancy and thoughts on root cause. Thanks again.
Thanks. That's kinda weird. I've got this:

Who knows, but I agree a tube swap is in order. Might be as easy as that.
Thanks for the reply. I only tested the high input so I can't comment on the low. Wouldn't V8, the phase inverter, effect all channels, not just the clean? I was wondering about V3. According to the manual that's the 2nd and 3rd gain stages for the clean channels.
Local shop has a used TM, but both clean channels are very weak. The OD channels are fine though. Doesn't seem to be the output section as all power grid settings do the same thing. Any idea what this could be and a possible fix? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. BTW Curt, this is for the Seasick Green CS you posted yesterday in one of the Charvel threads. Fantastic guitar!
Mechanical stripping of the black ones seems like a drag and might not look very good. I'd prefer to live better through chemistry if there's a suitable...
I've got a Charvel Custom Shop with black Floyd fine tuners, but think it would look sharper with natural brass. Anybody know where I can find a set? The black seems to be some kind of plating. Maybe it can be removed, but I think it would be simpler to pick up brass replacements. Thanks.
