You guys wouldn't know good tone if you sat on it. I know tone and you don't get it with your damn Axe-Fx and a solid-state amp. Just ask my mother, she heard me rocking out some Jimi in the basement and commented on how the Axe-Fx could never sound that good. Oh, and the next time you have a...
I switched TO solid-state power amp as well. To my ears it sounds as good. I simply got sick of all the issues with tubes nowadays. It's also much lighter.
If all you care about is the amp models and meat-and-potato effects the standard is the way to go. The amp models sound the same as the Ultra. The Ultra has better pitch and reverb effects in addition to a bunch of esoteric effects that you probably wouldn't use. The Ultra is also almost sold...
Interesting....
Which way are you adjusting the transformer match? Up, or down?
It is a powerful parameter and most people probably never touch it. Basically it sets the turns ratio on the output transformer modeling.
Everything is in there. All the reverbs, compressors, harmonizer, etc. We're probably going to sell a base version and then offer add-on packs. The base version will have amps, cabs, reverb, delay, etc. Then there'll be the "Studio Pack" which will have multi-band compressor, vocoder, etc...
I like it but agree the delay is a bit much. Rather than decreasing the mix level, though, I'd turn the ducking on. Dial in about 6 dB of ducking. That way you'll get the delay when you stop playing but it won't clutter the main sound as much.
The problem with going into the front an amp like that is that you then go through all the tone-shaping. A Twin has a lot of treble boost and a considerable midrange dip (12+ dB IIRC). You can flatten out the tone stack response by cranking the midrage and turning the bass and treble all the...
