Can you ask him for his settings, because i cant seem to dial mine in to sound the way these guys describe the amp, i would like to try his settings because i love the jp, but to me it sounds more modern, compressed and darker and the mids sound different than a iic+, i have the reissue ++ side...
I owned a couple Gibson explorers, i liked them, but my favorite explorers is my KL’s and esp explorers, both sound and feel better than the gibsons i owned and played over the years. The gibsons i owned was built in the 2000s, i wouldnt mind trying some of the older gibson explorers.
Im not really a recording guy, i dont even have a computer that works, but i have a few iphone clips, i can message you some clips if you have instagram.
I own a JP2C and a IIC++ reissue, both are nice amps, to my ears the JP sounds darker, tighter, more gain, the mids are different, and its sounds more modern than the reissue ++, i will say i like the feel of the ++ better, i like the where the mids sit better, and has more of the classic vibe...
I dont care what tempo they recorded it in at the studio as long as James could play it live at full speed, i doubt they are the first metal band to do it that way. And theres plenty of videos of him playing at full speed and even faster during that tour.
I seen Ace at M3 a few months ago, it was a good show, some mistakes and hes not a great singer but hes old now and its to be expected at this stage of life, im glad hes still doing it.
