Doesn't seem like a problem but want to double check... when the VH4 starts up, is it supposed to constantly flash all buttons until you select a channel? Equally, are you supposed to deactivate the send 2, mute, and channel insert buttons every time you power it up? Or is this some kind of...

If you're not happy I say take it back and get your money back if you can, and save up a bit more and get a VH4 or Hagen. If not those, then a Peavey 5150 and a tubescreamer, or maybe their new Invective amp.

hmmm... honestly I couldn't describe the D-Moll as fuzzy... I have one, and yes it's not quite as tight as the VH4 or Hagen... but it's definitely not fuzzy. Orange's are fuzzy... the D-Moll is not. What tuning are you playing in? How high are your pickups?

Just checked my email receipts and it looks like I had the alnico, so not really sure on the ceramic Nailbomb. Maybe that's why I prefer the SH6 then! Be interested in trying to a ceramic Nailbomb as a comparison, but their prices have gone through the roof in recent years!

Funnily enough I had the Nailbomb in a bunch of guitars too! Think I just prefer the Distortions tighter low-end.

Used to have the Rebel Yell's myself. But now I use the Seymour Duncan Distortion SH6 and I prefer it.

The D-Moll lives at the practice room and at home I have the Orange, so I wouldn't be using the VH4 pedal with the D-Moll pretty much ever. Kind of no need to!!

I've got a D-Moll and an Orange Rockerverb 100 MKIII. I'm curious about getting a VH4 but they're quite thin on the ground when it comes to finding them used. So I'm thinking maybe I could get by with the VH4 pedal into the front-end of my Orange. Anyone done this? How does it sound?

I've not played a VH4, but I have played a Hagen, D-Moll, and Herbert. It may have been the cab I played it through (a Koch 4x12) but I didn't like the Herbert as much as the other two. It seemed scooped constantly, even with the midcut turned off and the mids cranked. The D-Moll and Hagen...

Our other guitarist uses a Hagen and a Helix, and he reckons the amp switches faster from midi with his Helix than it does the included footswitch.

I tried the Kraken out at Andertons. I didn't really dig it... can't do a decent clean, and I thought gain 1 was better for high-gain rhythms than gain 2.
