searching the web for a list of mods for the marshall mark iii 2100 head.
did some updating on my 2100, filter cans, bias resistors, new output trans, tubes and a few electralytic caps.
just wanted to clean things up and update due to the age of the amp.
anyways would like to check into the nfb...
hey gang.
yah just looking for some info on these mods.
i realize its an old thread, but would like some confirmation on these mods.
like i stated there are 2 boards inside and i think from last looking at my 2100, they can have the same number resistor.
so anyone have any mods for the 2100.
are these for the 50 watt head only?
also are there 2 r7? i think there are 2 pcb and they each have the same r number. which pcb are the mods for?
one says r7 to 100k and then it says to bypass r7 with a 470pf cap??
i have the 2100 head. will these mods work.
any body have pics of this...
did you ever find out what were the small issues that needed to be changed? i know there was the tracers that need to be snipped, a couple of jumpers, also a 22uf 35v cap on r37. r26 snipped, r25=10k, but h kaplan stated 'almost there but still a couple of small issues?'
just want to know if...
love my reg 5153.
did the gain mod and f*ck she rocks. no need for the stealth.
i actually read that the insides of the stealth are exactly the same as the reg head. i seen where the factory snipped a couple joints on the pcb and also a pic of a couple extra wires bypassing something but...
they are both for gain. i did not notice any tone change except maybe back off the bass a bit. with the 5153, it seems the bass increases as you turn up the gain.
i did both r25 and r26 mods and she kicks!! what it does is it gives you is the 50 watt blue ch. on your 100 watt.
yes you should try the bl ch mods if you want more gain its there.
snip one end of r26, in case you want to reverse the mod.
piggyback 220k to the orig r25, or replace r25 with a 100k. piggybacking allows you to easily reverse the mod.
gain is substantially increased with no tone change.
so thats why the tape on the snozola??
anyways band sounded great.
dlr played to the camera too much, as always, and it screwed up his timing. otherwise fun to watch.
no difference in the red on mine either.
Hmmm what year amp?
maybe a preamp tube on the way out, but like i said i did not notice any difference in ch3.
maybe now that your ch2 has more gain it lets your ears hear how ch3 is more compressed than ch2?? ch2 is less compressed than ch3.
just...
