    Neodymium speakers???

Might want to check out the Jensen Tornado Stealth, there’s a 65 and a 100 watt version. I used to have the 100, interesting, good unique tone. Definitely doesn’t sound like a V30 though.

    Wasted Years -Isolated Guitars

Seems like they were going for some stadium symphony orchestra type of sound on S.I.T. and Seventh Son, great albums but I never understood that mixing choice when they had already nailed such an awesome mix and guitar tone all the way back on NOTB.

Agree with Ultralead and IIC+, or any Mark series for that matter.

Celestion Redbacks: What's your opinion of them?

EVM12L (not the “Classic”), Scumback H75, Mojotone Greyhound. Couldn’t put the guitar down paired with any of those 3.

Celestion Redbacks: What's your opinion of them?

Yes, I know that’s typical of all speakers but one of my Redbacks is super dark and one is really bright. They’re all broken in. The dark one has the black cardboard gasket and the other 3 I own have the cork gasket.

Celestion Redbacks: What's your opinion of them?

I seconds the low mids statement, rich low mids and plenty of them. Not the beefiest speakers ever but they have some of that big magnet girthiness in the lows. As said, they mix really well with a bunch of other speakers. The 4 of them I have range from dark to bright.

    What’s the go-to KT88 today?

I’m digging the Shuguang KT88-98, detailed high end clarity, tight lows. You might need to dial down your highs with them. I thought the EH KT88’s were a bit harsh in the top end but I feel like their 6550’s don’t really do the rumbly 6550 thing, they sound more like KT88’s to me with open mids...

Bogner Ubercab vs Fryette Fatbottom vs Diezel FL

Well, I got my hands on a front loaded Uberkab and a Diezel 412-FK. It’s Diezel > Uberkab for me. V30’s & K100’s are alright but not my favorite so I loaded the cabs with 12L’s & Redbacks for testing. First time trying T75’s by the way, definitely not my thing, very mediocre inarticulate...

    A speaker blend discovery

EVM12L + Redback is to fucking die for. I mean old school 12L’s, not the newer 12L Classics which are way more sensitive and lack the low mids & smoothness of the originals. 12L + Scumback H75 is also amazeballs. Mojotone Greyhound plays well with those three as well. I’ve tried numerous...

Right hand slowing down, left palm swelling up

Same here, turning 42, desk jockey. You might want to think about seeing a messsage therapist and/or a personal trainer. The tension caused from being a desk jockey will encumber your nerves, blood flow, etc., to the point that your body isn't sending/reciving signals like it should. A good...

Right hand slowing down, left palm swelling up

I second this. And the rare times I play sitting it’s classical position, body between the legs and trying to remember to keep an upright posture. I come in here about to say somethin about an anti inflammatory diet then read that beef/bacon/eggs comment above, lol.

Two amp setup, whats my best option? The Mark V and Diezel Herbert

Be aware that most devices that split your signal will degrade your signal, gear that keeps your signal relatively intact is expensive. The Radial JD6 or JD7 is the best splitter I tried, IME cheaper stuff degraded the tone to the point that it wasn’t worth it. I’ve heard good things about some...

    Was I Sold Used Tubes?

Interesting, so I guess that can happen during burn-in. Never seen that before in my 25 years of using tube amps. Thanks for the replies

    Was I Sold Used Tubes?

The silvery opaque circle on the side. There's opaque silver circles on two opposite sides of each tube, inside the glass behind each silver opaque circle is a small metal disc. The opaque silver on the top of the tube is nothing new but I've never seen new tubes with these metal deposits on the...

    Was I Sold Used Tubes?

Seller claimed these were brand new but the glass is covered with metal deposits. Doesn't that mean these have lots of hours on them? Mullard KT88's.

Are there any differences feel/tonewise between front loaded 4x12's and rear loaded 4x12's?

    1) Yes, egg crate foam on the rear panel. 2) Yes, the interior length and height are both 27.25”. Is that some sort of enclosure design issue?

Are there any differences feel/tonewise between front loaded 4x12's and rear loaded 4x12's?

I’ve never seen a quality cab with a thin rear panel; all the ones I’ve owned have been the same ply that the sides/bottom/top are made out of. If it’s properly sealed I doubt there’s any difference and IME a “fully sealed” cab sounds just the slightest bit different from one where a little air...

Are there any differences feel/tonewise between front loaded 4x12's and rear loaded 4x12's?

Alright, so I used a router to modify my Avatar 4x12 Contemporary to be front loadable and did a back to back comparison. FL definitely increases the high end. Walking around the room the cab was no more or less directional but the increased highs can fool you into thinking FL is more...
