Opened up for King's X 2 months ago and Dug & Ty both used Axe FX units and they really sounded great. At no point did it sound like they didn't have amps on stage. They used their Axe's as preamps and used tube amps as the power sections. They had the added bonus of being able to recreate ALL...
I like them in this order but, 3rd place is still REALLY high up there in the grand scheme of things:
TAG
PRS
Suhr
Keep in mind I own at least one of each that I would NEVER sell because they are THE best of their kind (in other words, we're talking 9.8, 9.7, 9.6 type ratings for each brand).
That may be true otherwise but, not if they're loaded in an 80's Laney AOR cab. The
70's sound pretty good in that cab. A few years back I left one in our rehearsal
spot to use even though I had Bogner/Mesa etc.
I went to a GC after I picked it up from LI because I wanted to A/B my Luke III with a particular Albert Lee model but it was sold. I did it with the Albert Lee they still had and MAN the DiMarzio Transition pickups in Luke III's kill! They are so clear!
Anyways, they had a de-purple burst y2d...
The man himself answered your question about the GG sig model. I guess the only thing you can't get anymore is GG's signature etched on the back of the headstock.
This thing needed a set up BAD! I was fretting on on bends above the 16th fret and there was some grease or something underneath the pickguard that was driving me nuts. Strings were new on it but, had to jettison them to take the pickguard off. Put on a set of EB Cobalt 10-46. Set the...
Yes, I know I'm supposed to be getting rid of guitars* but, I NEEDED this one! I never knew about this model until a month ago. Don't know how I missed it but I did. I had a Y2D before. It was cool and all but I'd just didn't bond with it. The thicker neck on this limited run version is to die...
No longer readily available but, inexpensive higher end Yamaha Pacifica's like my 921 can hang just fine with boutique superstrats.
Say what you will about reliability but, made in China Egnater amps sound GREAT!
Hughes & Kettner Triamp MK II
Brunetti 059
Egnater Vengeance/Armageddon
Line 6 Spider Valve
Seriously, all of the above sound great (even the... gasp... Line 6 when set up properly--channel volume low/master volume high).
Love my 101B. Seriously, I mean I bought one NEW  :loco:
Really wanted to like a 20th Anni that came in used to my local GC but, just didn't dig it. Spent more for the new 101B but, am happy. I really love the way this particular amp sounds. Some sing and some don't. Mine most...
