    New Favorite Pick

Thanks for the heads up! I sent an email about the .75mm Classic Mini. I've been playing .60mm Dunlop Tortexes for a while now and I'm looking forward to trying out this new acrylic pick. I think I'm in the minority here, but I've never liked thick picks :dunno:

Anybody go crazy and use straight pedals for dirt?

I could not agree more with this. Gotta get the amp volume up to get the most out of the pedals. I know that my Deluxe Reverb needs to get up around 4.5-5 or so before I'm getting the desired tone with my dirt pedals. I've actually played a few gigs this way and really enjoyed the simplicity of...

Lookin' for a practice amp so I can stop hauling my big amps

The Vox has a nice sound to it, but it's not exactly small and compact if that's what you're looking for. I know this isn't on your list, but you may want to consider the Fender Super Champ XD. It has a nice variety of tones and sounds pretty damn good. It's a tube, 15 watt 1x10 for $300...

Anyone try one of the new Vox handwired amps yet?

Just thought I'd give this a bump to see if there were any acquisition over the holidays...

    Marshall Vintage Modern vs 5150II

I honestly can't decide which I like better. They sound VERY similar. The VM may have a tad more hair, but really I don't hear any major differences between the two. I'll take the cowardly (but honest) way out and not even vote :emofag: :grim: Both sounded great BTW

Maybe he will chime in. Seems like I'm not the only one interested in hearing more about these.

Anyone try one of the new Vox handwired amps yet?

They've been out for a few months now but I still have yet to see one in a store. There also aren't many reviews out there. Has anybody checked one out yet? If so can you share your impressions?

    Marshall VM 2266

I love my VM (2466) and I really think it's an underrated amp. A lot (not saying all) of people who don't like the VM also claim that they didn't give it adequate time. As simple as the front panel seems on this amp, it does take some time to dial in and get used to. As mentioned above, the...

Rig-Talkers, what do you do for a living?

I thought Intermediate was a bitch as well. I think I got a C in Intermediate I (wanted to change my major after the first class) and a B in Intermediate II. Unfortunately both were night classes so it was just a bombardment of info for 3 hours. I didn't think Advanced Accounting was too bad...

Rig-Talkers, what do you do for a living?

I have heard back on FAR - 81, and AUD - 91. I am waiting to hear back on REG (should be any day now) and I take BEC on 11/23. I thought FAR was a beast. Covers all of Intermediate Accounting and Advanced Accounting. Just a ton of information in both volume and variety. I actually thought...

Rig-Talkers, what do you do for a living?

1/2 way to a CPA. Two tests down, waiting to hear back on the 3rd, 4th (and hopefully last) is 11/23. Pain in the ass :bash: Working at a CPA firm, mostly tax.

I Think I'd like Another Vintage Fender

I researched the Hot Rod series not too long ago when I was looking for a Fender. It seemed liked there were a lot of reliability issues and while the cleans were very nice, the drive channel was just ok. I've only tried one once, whichever the 4x10 one is (Deville?), and I remember it going...

I Think I'd like Another Vintage Fender

The Super is very intriguing. I kind of feel like that's the way I'm leaning right now. Maybe because I've never owned a 4x10 combo or cab. We'll see though. No rush on the deision right now.
