Thanks, I just took a closer look at the Renegade and it really does have a ton of useful features, more than just "bells & whistles." Almost all of the features are per channel, which I really like, and ability to bias it myself. CooooooL!
You are implying that if I want one of these great sounding amps, I should find some way to buy it directly from Bruce?
I would love to have one, I love the sounds, but I can't risk getting one that isn't going to hold up for more than a few months or a year. I know there are good ones out...
Thank You! That sounds logical.
Do you still have your Renegade? Do you play hard and loud a lot? Or is it for home use?
Do you run at 18w or 65w? What tube mix do you typically use?
I finally had a chance to actually play 3 or 4 Egnater amps in a store here. I had always wondered what they would sound like, plus I'm impressed by the fact that Keith Howland, guitarist for Chicago, swears by the brand. I love the sounds I was getting!! I think there were two Renegades, a...
WINNER!
Turned out to be "cone cry" in the Weber Texas. The straight smooth cone is apparently the type of cone that is most susceptible to cone cry, and (in this case) no amount of doping fixed it. Got a different speaker and no more ghost notes. Didn't have anything to do with the amp or the...
Well, now I'm suspecting a speaker issue.
I plug into the bigger cab with Michigan speakers in it and there is no ghost note at all.
If I plug the 8 ohm Texas 10 into the amp's 4 ohm jack, the ghost note does not happen.
I was wrong above.......if I turn the bass knob all the way off the...
The amp is basically new, less than 1 year old, manufacture date is January 2012 according to Mesa tech. All original Mesa tubes, which (in my experience) are notorious for having problems almost out of the starting gate. Anyway, all the caps and transformers, etc. are good as new, but doesn't...
So, is there a suggestion somewhere in there? I suppose I can start by switching out tubes one at a time and see if that stops it. I'll try a different cab also, just be sure it isn't the speaker.
I was tweaking my mini rec last night, no pedals, just guitar > amp > Weber Texas 10 speaker in a ported cab.
I was fine until I switched to modern mode, then every time I hit the low D note (5th fret A string, or 10th fret E string) I would get a very loud ghost note 1 octave down.
The tone...
There is a Telex plant here in Lincoln, but they don't make speakers here. I figured the RE20 I bought was shipped from Lincoln to the retailer who then shipped it back to me in Lincoln.
I can see it in a way, I suppose......
Another forum recently bragged about a 10 year anniversary being online. So if I assume that about 10 years is the going average for online music gear forums, and if I assume that online forums had a lot to do with players getting new opportunities to...
As I read all this stuff, I knew selling your Rivera was going to come into it sooner or later. Sounds to me like you simply bought the wrong amp. Remind me not to buy your M60 from you. (and yes, I am looking at used Riveras, that's how I found this thread)
glpg80 is quite right......no...
