Yup! Been there, done that, then I went against the grain and bought an amp that I like......now I'm hooked and it's a lot easier to just say no to the fad amps....
I'm getting into a couple of Rivera amps, trying to devise a way to test drive their 2 channel compressor......and now this Rock Crusher thing! I'll hve to try it now!
I'm glad your economy has so much cash to play with..... :gethim:
Here in America where my economy is people don't have enough money to eat, let alone buy amps.....
YUP!
Guitars all have different size necks, different frets, etc...... find one that fits your hand, then have it dressed and set up by a legendary luthier. If it fits you correctly, and the setup is right, you'll never have to do anything to it again except change the strings. Don't assume...
10 times faster than you can.
But that's part of the problem. We get all messed up, and then we "re"act to it....... after the fact. Then we wonder how we got so messed up.
Why dont' we start trying "prehab"??
I don't know why anybody would say Allan doesn't know what he's playing. That last clip that zachman posted sounds to me like someone who is way above average in theory and structure. He definitely knows what he is doing, he can explain it in music theory terms, and then he can play what he...
Wouldn't it be more accurate to say it's a bitch shooting drugs and drinking and smoking all your life so you can be wrinkled and sour and sick when you're 50?
The only bad thing about aging is the American lifestyle.....sick food, sick drugs, sick liquor, sick smokes, sick velcro on the...
I like the fact that I can use any kit/sounds with any patterns. If you have the expansion kits, you could for example play metal riffs with a Nashville sounding kit. The only subtle drawback is the EZX patterns will not trigger all of the sounds (bleeds and mics) associated with the SDX kits...
Doug's Tubes feeling is that if the tubes are too old and used then there is not much point in it. It's much better to match new tubes.
Maybe I should just buy the power tube pair from Rivera, then let Doug match them so I can get a fresh spare pair at the same time. I'm thinking the preamp...
That's an excellent idea, I'll eamil him and ask. Thanks!
If Doug can do that, then it should work out. The amp has the original Rivera factory (Svetlana) tubes in it, still works and sounds fine after all these years. I suppose I should send him the entire set, not just the power tubes?
In other words, as long as I use the settings for the correct tubes that I put in, I should get close enough using the info from any of the KH manuals?
That would be nice, would make it easier for me to pull the trigger on a set from Doug's. I'll go with the EL34's, Doug's is stocking the...
I cannot find one online at all. I can find the manual for the KH Reverb and KH2, but not the original KH55.
Rivera says if I buy new tubes from them they can match and I wont have to open it up to rebias. But I'll spend probably $60 bucks more for the set.
If I buy my own tubes, then I'll...
